Kiki Barth is a fan favorite. From her first introduction as a guest at Larsa Pippen’s pool party in season 4, to her frequent appearances on crews since then, Barth has gone from “friend” to a must-watch personality in season six . Born in Haiti “I came here at such a young age and now my dream is becoming a reality,” she tells ESSENCE. As a reality star, Barth continually movies his life, spending five to 6 days per week in front of the lens for the world to see.
With every moment, drama and beauty, “self-care could be very essential. I take it very seriously,” Barth says. That’s why drinking water every morning before filming is a staple of her wellness ritual. “You’ll be shocked because I don’t really take care of my skin,” she says about keeping skin care to a minimum. “The more I wash my face, it starts to break out and break out. But I do a mask once a month because I know I don’t wash it every day,” she adds.
The former Miss Haiti leaves her makeup as minimalist as her skincare. “I don’t like to wear a lot of make-up, but when I’m on set I always ask for a smokey eye,” she says, turning eye shadow right into a housewife look. “My makeup artist says, ‘Kiki, you mostly do a smokey eye.’ But I often have sleepy eyes, so while you smoke it, it kind of opens your eyes. That’s how I take a look at it.” But when she has a break day – each from reality TV and her modeling profession – she likes to wipe her face at home. “You know, as a model, you wear makeup a lot, so when I have time off, I try not to put anything on my skin.”
Speaking of modeling, Barth has appeared on runways and in magazines similar to and Miami Swim Week “Since I was a little girl in Haiti, I was always tall and very thin, and people would come up to me and ask, ‘When are you going to New York?’ You will be a famous model,” she recalls. Looking back, she didn’t understand what modeling was, but after moving to the United States and encounters like that, she decided to sign with her agency Frontline management. “When I came, I took it upon myself and here we are.”
And although she is a minimalist in relation to beauty, Barth tries to include her culture into her day by day beauty rituals in modeling. As for her hair, “now we have something called Lwil Maskriti [castor oil]” she says. “Whenever I travel there, I attempt to get my products directly from Haiti,” using the ingredient to treat diseases, hair care and other remedies. “I do not care about my face, but in relation to my body, I care that,” she says. “And body butter is a must,” a lot in order that she uses a sample she developed for her upcoming beauty brand launch.
Just before next week’s season finale, Barth reflects not only on her beauty on the show, but in addition on her relationships with the opposite Housewives. “At the end of the day, it’s good to have a group of friends. Even if there are differences, you can agree to disagree,” he says. “I just love being around them, no matter what.” Even after the season ends, her schedule will still be busy. “You just have to look and see,” he says. “The future is brilliant.”
