Colin Allred appeals to black voters as election day approaches
Congressman from Dallas and candidate for the United States Senate Colin Allred makes the ultimate appeal to a voting bloc in Texas that leans heavily toward Democrats: Black voters.
According to , Allred actively participated within the campaign, including stops in Houston, most famously alongside Vice President Kamala Harris and Houston’s most famous star, Beyoncé.
On October 29, Allred also stopped at Texas Southern University, where he was introduced by Georgia State Senator Raphael Warnock.
During his appearance at TSU, an HBCU situated in the guts of Houston’s historically Black Third Ward, Allred solid his opponent, Sen. Ted Cruz, as an absentee senator who abandoned Texans freezing to death of their homes to flee to Cancun.
Allred also portrayed Cruz as a staunch supporter of policies that led to a near-total abortion ban in Texas.
According to ProPublica, restrictive abortion laws led to the deaths of not less than two women in Texas because some doctors are afraid to treat miscarriages due to state laws prohibiting them from interrupting the fetal heartbeat.
Also present on the rally was Samantha Casino, a Texas woman who was essentially forced to give birth to a baby that doctors told her wouldn’t live beyond a day due to Texas law.
Je’Von Tone, a 22-year-old Texas Southern student, told the Texas Tribune that he was enthusiastic about Allred’s visit and that he was playing a task for young, black voters, and Warnock introduced him on the rally.
Allred can be making more forceful appeals aimed specifically at black voters. In a recent fundraising op-ed, Allred’s campaign fanned the concept that he could grow to be Texas’ first black senator and opposed racially motivated voter suppression laws within the state.
“Black Americans have long faced too many obstacles, including discrimination and racist voter suppression laws championed by Texas Republicans like Ted Cruz,” the discharge said.
Cruz he also advocated anti-transgender policies during his campaign. According to , the senator’s ad campaign featuring transphobic ads is an element of a $65 million initiative by Republican Party candidates across the country.
While some Republican strategists imagine Cruz’s fear-mongering will work, some polls have Cruz ahead by just two pointswhich is inside a three-point margin of error in either direction.
Allred’s campaign manager, Paige Hutchinson, said the 41-year-old former footballer’s stance against transphobic messages stems from his belief that there isn’t a place for hate and discrimination.

Explicit billboard featuring fake image of Kamala Harris removed from Ohio highway as company says it was unaware of its ‘vulgar’ nature
Drivers heading west on State Highway 16 in Newark, Ohio, will now not have to clarify to their children or elderly moms why the Vice President of the United States is shown on her knees together with her tongue hanging out, together with her intentions made clear to most individuals of a certain age.
A representative of the billboard company that posted the fake image, paid by an area company, Towing the RK, he said On Monday, the Newark Advocate discontinued the ad because of its “vulgar” insinuations. So why did they let it occur in the primary place?
A spokesman for Kennedy Outdoor Advertising said those that approved the billboard didn’t understand the sexual undertones. It was erected on Friday and dismantled two days later.
“When the vulgarity of the ad was brought to our attention, we immediately removed it,” said Clayton, a Kennedy spokesman who declined to provide his name because of threats the agency received after the billboard was removed.
“We do not tolerate something like this, under any circumstances,” he continued. “Whether we agree with it politically or not, we would never agree to something like this. It was definitely a mistake.”
Harris does he handled such misogyny since she first ran for San Francisco District Attorney in 2002. From the very starting, she was bothered by right-wing insinuations, and lots of people pointed to her connections with Willie Brown, the speaker of the California State Assembly and the king of the Democratic Party – Bay Area politicians from the Nineteen Nineties.
Critics have accused Harris of sleeping her solution to the highest, which ignores the incontrovertible fact that she has never lost a general election in six tries, starting with the attorney general’s office, then California’s attorney general, the U.S. Senate, and at last the vp.
However, the humiliation of minors continues.
One speaker attended Donald Trump’s now-infamous rally at Madison Square Garden he insisted “(Harris) and her pimps will destroy our country.”
Some Christian nationalist leaders accuse her of being possessed by the “spirit of Jezebel.” Using a well-recognized trope for girls running for president, Trump declared that Harris wouldn’t give you the chance to take care of powerful world leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“It will be so easy for them,” the previous president told Fox News. “It will be like a toy.”
But a billboard in Ohio could mark a brand new low. A spokesman for Kennedy Outdoor Advertising said there was just one billboard and that person thought it depicted the vp as a “bear bear.”
The copy includes text surrounding the fake photo that reads: “Kamala I am unable to talk now. She’s at the child shower.
“If three or four people had viewed this piece of art, of course it probably would never have ended up on the billboard,” the spokesman said. “But if it’s one person reviewing it, they may not be thinking about it or being aware of the sexual undertones in the ad. It’s not like an ad goes through five or six people who review it and approve it.”
“Some people are just disgusting… I’m glad someone had the common sense to deal with this crap…” he wrote one of X’s commentators.
It turned on one other: “This shows who THEY are, misogynistic liars.”
Harris’ billboard was juxtaposed with an adjoining billboard depicting Trump’s face, accompanied by a quote from the previous president: “They’re not actually after me, they’re after you. I’m just interrupting.
In the comments section at article published by the Latin Times, one commentator wondered how anyone could make an ethical argument in Trump’s favor.
“This is a guy who was convicted of sexual assault, dated a sexual predator, sexually assaulted his first wife and, as part of his duties as owner of the Miss America pageants, stared at young women,” the reader said. “And these are only just a few examples documented in the general public record. And you might be morally judging Kamala Harris based on rumors. You cannot make this up.

Black Voters Matter co-founder says Trump “isn’t shit” and the election is a rebuke to racism
LaTosha Brown wants undecided Black voters this election campaign to know one thing about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump: he’s “not a sh*t.”
Brown’s voting rights group, Black Voters Matter PAC, recently used explicit language about Trump in a campaign ad geared toward cleansing up the history of his presidency.
“Did you know Trump wanted the military to actually shoot Black Lives Matter protesters?” Brown claims in the ad, which features Black Voters Matter co-founder Cliff Albright, journalist Roland Martin and others.
Albright reminds voters in the ad that Trump “let people die during Covid-19 and then made us drink bleach.”
Brown, refuting the notion that Trump sent Americans “stimulus” checks during the pandemic, adds: “He tried to block the stimulus bill and he couldn’t, so he delayed sending the money so he could put his name on the checks.”
Referring further to the economy, Martin says in the ad: “He screwed up (President Barack) Obama’s economy, lost thousands of Black jobs, caused inflation and gave his billionaire buddies a tax cut.”
Another person in the ad recalls Trump’s final days in office, when he “used the death penalty to execute black men like Brandon Bernard Keith.”
While most traditional election ads, especially those from campaigns, feature moderate language, Brown said it is important to “get straight to the point” about Trump and the threats he poses to the Black community.
“It sums up and reflects what we feel but often don’t have the space to say it, so we affirm (it),” Brown added.
While Brown expressed confidence that Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, will win the election against Trump, she wants black voters to “do our part.”
More importantly, he wants all black Americans – men, women and young people alike – to see this election as a “rebuke to racism.”
Throughout the election cycle, Trump and Republicans lobbied racist attacks against Harris and voters of color, especially immigrants. Most importantly, Harris was called a DEI worker and Trump questioned her IQ level and called her “lazy” – a historically racist slur used against Black people in America.
While there was much debate amongst black voters about “policy details” related to the economy and the Gaza Strip, Brown said, “We’re not going to play the game of actually confusing us.”
The activist maintained: “We will explain the matter clearly and remember what really happened. We will tell the truth about this.”
She added: “We’re not going to sugarcoat it anymore.”

Kamala Harris presents election as a choice between ‘freedom’ and ‘chaos and division’ in her closing speech – The Essence
Photo: Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images
With the White House behind her, Vice President Kamala Harris delivered an impassioned closing speech to the American people. In an incredibly accelerated election cycle in which Harris had only three months to define herself to voters beyond the Biden administration, she used the speech to spotlight the stark contrast between her values and vision for the country and that of Donald Trump. Even her chosen venue, the Ellipse (site of Donald Trump’s infamous event Speech of January 6 in 2021, where he exhorted his followers to “fight like hell” and preceded an rebel) looked as if it would symbolize the various type of government he offers.
Here are our top 5 takeaways.
Harris says Donald Trump is fascinated about himself
Harris wasted no time in laying out the stakes of the election, saying: “This election is more than just a choice between two parties and two different candidates. “It’s a choice whether we have a country rooted in freedom for every American or one ruled by chaos and division.” She went on to characterize Donald Trump as deeply selfish and focused on revenge against his perceived enemies. “Donald Trump intends to use the United States military against American citizens who simply disagree with him, people he calls, quote, America’s ‘enemy from within.’ This is not a presidential candidate who thinks about how to improve his life. “He is someone who is unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed with grief and craving unchecked power.” Unlike Trump, who has an “enemies list,” Harris described herself as someone who has a “bucket list” of things she desires to do for the country.
It’s time to change sides to Division
Unity was one other theme of Harris’ speech. While the country “has become absorbed in too much division, chaos and mutual distrust,” she said, “it doesn’t have to be this way.” Harris encouraged Americans to assume a united country with her on the helm: “We have to stop pointing fingers and start clenching our hands. It is time to turn the page on drama and conflict, fear and division. It is time for a new generation of leadership in America, and I am ready to offer that leadership as the next President of the United States.” If elected, Harris also promised to be a president for all people, even those that disagree with her: “Here’s what I promise you: I will always listen to you, even if you don’t vote for me. I will always tell you the truth, even if it’s hard to hear. I will work every day to build consensus and reach compromise to get things done, and if you give me the chance to fight on your behalf, nothing in the world will stand in my way.”
Harris says a middle-class upbringing inspires presidential priorities
Harris portrayed herself as someone who cared concerning the average American and could connect with them due to her middle-class upbringing. “There’s something about people being treated unfairly or overlooked that, honestly, just blows my mind. I don’t like it. This is what my mother instilled in me: a drive to hold accountable those who use their wealth or power to take advantage of other people, a drive to protect hardworking Americans who are not always seen or heard and who deserve a voice.” At several points in her speech, she recalled memories of her mother and how that will impact her priorities as president. For example, when developing her economic plan, she recalled: “I’ll always remember how our mother saved and how excited she was when she could finally afford to purchase our first house. I remember how excited she was and I do know that owning a home is just not only a guarantee of economic security. It’s about taking pride in your labor, and as president, I’ll fight to assist first-time home buyers make down payments, defeat firms which might be raising rents and constructing thousands and thousands of recent homes. Because of her experience caring for her mother while battling cancer, she knows how expensive it will probably be, so Harris also proposed extending Medicare home health care coverage to seniors to ease the burden on families.
Harris vows to take motion on abortion and immigration
Since becoming the Democratic presidential candidate, Harris has repeatedly advocated for reproductive rights, and in her speech she once more asserted that a woman – not the federal government – has the fitting to make her own decisions about her body. In contrast to what she said was Trump’s plan to ban abortion nationwide, she promised that “as president of the United States, I will proudly sign it when Congress passes legislation to restore reproductive freedom nationwide.” On the heels degrading remarks Last week, Trump spoke out about immigrants during his controversial rally at Madison Square Garden, Harris said: “Politicians must stop treating immigration as an issue to intimidate votes and instead treat it as a serious challenge that we must finally unite to address.” to unravel the issue.” In addition to promising to sign a previously rejected bipartisan immigration bill, she also recognized the worth of immigrants. She promised comprehensive immigration reform: “We must recognize that we are a nation of immigrants, and I will work with Congress to pass immigration reform that includes a workable path to citizenship for hard-working immigrants like farmworkers and Dreamers.”
In a hallmark of the campaign, Harris ended on an optimistic note
Reflecting on her extraordinary journey that led to this moment, Harris said: “I grew up as a child of the civil rights movement. My parents took me in a stroller to marches where crowds of people of all races, creeds, and walks of life gathered to fight for the ideals of freedom and opportunity. I lived the promise of America. I saw how hard our mother worked to give her daughters the same opportunities this country gave her.” She continued: “These United States of America, we will not be a vessel for the plans of would-be dictators… Let us fight for this beautiful country that we love and in seven days we will likely be in power. Each of you has the facility to show the page and begin writing the following chapter of probably the most extraordinary story ever told. While this speech was intended to be her closing argument, it won’t be the last time voters will see her on the campaign trail. On Wednesday, Harris is scheduled to go to three cities in battleground states: Raleigh, North Carolina; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Madison, Wisconsin.
