“Have you read Ina Garten’s new memoir,” Cohen asked the 83-year-old, who confessed: “I’ve read parts of it.” She rejected all claims about her in the memoir, noting, “She can write whatever she wants.”

Almost immediately, Snoop jumped to her defense, joking, “I haven’t read that book. What does it say?”

After Cohen informed them that Garten had attributed their estrangement to Stewart’s move to Connecticut, Stewart quickly denied this, citing one more reason: “That’s not true… After I went to prison.”

The tastemaker was jailed in 2004 after a six-week trial for insider trading. She was accused of obtaining information before others and selling her ImClone Systems shares the day before they plummeted.

The founder of Martha Stewart Living stated that her felony conviction for conspiracy to obstruct, obstructing agency proceedings and making false statements to federal investigators affected each her profession and personal relationships.

Stewart spent five months in federal prison, which marked a turning point in her relationship with Garten, who, in keeping with Stewart, began to distance herself during this time.

While discussing the Stewart-Garten feud, Snoop showed his unwavering support, stating in a serious tone, “Martha, don’t argue with people.” “That’s when I stepped in,” he joked.

Cohen added with a laugh: “When one friend walks out the door, another friend shows up at the door.”

The reaction to Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson’s injury is a reminder of who made it possible for him – Andscape

Published

on

By

Deshaun Watson’s season is over, and possibly his entire NFL profession. The Cleveland Browns quarterback was having one of the worst statistical seasons in league history, and Browns fans booed him when he took the sphere on Sunday. Then suddenly, within the second quarter of their Week 7 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, Watson dropped back to throw a pass after which fell to the bottom with a torn Achilles. Reactions to the injury were harsh. Cleveland fans have shown they’re fed up with Watson’s uselessness even greater than they’re fed up along with his off-field transgressions. Meanwhile, Watson’s peers and teammates defended him and lifted him up. Both types of responses are a reminder of an environment that has allowed a person accused of dozens of acts of sexual misconduct to proceed to be accepted and defended, although many others found these alleged acts abhorrent.

An unwritten rule in sports is that fans show respect to players once they are injured. Even should you support the opposing team, cheering when a player is injured is bad form. It’s especially bad to have a good time when a player from the team you support gets injured. The Cleveland crowd ignored this unwritten rule as fans loudly celebrated on the sight of Watson falling to the bottom with a devastating injury. In a vacuum, Watson’s raucous joy at misfortune would have been universally dismissed, but Watson’s unique circumstances complicated the whole lot.

The Cleveland Browns contract gave Watson a record-setting salary $230 million over five yearstied the team to the quarterback for almost all the duration of the contract. They cannot sell Watson and even fire him without serious financial consequences. The contract was already unpopular since the offer for Watson got here when he was in front of him over 20 charges about sexual misconduct. As part of the contract, Watson also received enough money to allow him to settle any allegations out of court, making it virtually unimaginable for him to face any legal consequences for any wrongdoing. In short, it was a morally invalid decision for the Browns.

But that wasn’t Watson’s biggest sin within the eyes of many fans, who continued to go to games, root for the team, buy T-shirts and support a franchise that went out of its way to make the accused sexual assault man the face of its franchise. For these fans, Watson’s best sin was that he was bad at football – he would end the season as… worst quarterback within the league. He led the worst offense the Browns have seen this century. And combined with a coach who refused to let him sit on the bench, Watson’s stick with the Browns was a nightmare. Therefore, as soon as Watson entered the sphere, he was whistled. Yes, of course there was a large group of fans who were against him and expressed their opinions about it. However, there have been still enough people willing to fill stadiums every week, hoping that Watson could deliver a Super Bowl victory. Enough people whose boos filled the world on Sunday in a way they hadn’t within the weeks and months leading up to Watson’s on-field defeat. The deafening booing on Sunday was like a booing that hadn’t been there before. If fans were this anti-Watson, the taunts would have reverberated from the moment he stepped onto the sphere in a Browns uniform and would never have stopped.

And this is not about singling out Cleveland fans. I live in Atlanta, near the Falcons, who were also willing to step up to the plate for Watson. I actually have little question that the stadium here can be just as packed for Watson to play. I actually have been given no reason to imagine that society as a whole is willing to put the well-being of women above our own selfish desires, even when those desires are as shallow as wanting the team we love to win a championship.

But on Sunday, fans in Cleveland booed. And they cheered loudly once they realized the franchise can be without Watson for all the season. The cheers drew the ire of Watson’s peers, namely Browns quarterback Jameis Winston and linebacker Myles Garrett, who expressed how upset they were with fans rooting for Watson’s injury.

Winston passionate requests included comments equivalent to “I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve Deshaun.”

“I’m very upset about the reaction to a man who has had the world against him for the last four years,” Winston said. “And every day he put his body and his life on the line for this city.”

Garrett suggested it: “Man does almost the whole lot well. A model citizen in college in addition to professionals. He’s playing as hard as anyone I’ve ever seen… We have to be there for him as a team and as a corporation. We cannot have a look at a guy for mistakes on the pitch or anything off the pitch. We haven’t any moral basis to look down on this guy.

The comments were disappointing at best, but more specifically, offensive to anyone who has experienced or survived sexual assault of any kind, especially from Watson himself. Watson had “the world against him,” as Winston said, largely because of his righteous anger on the person accused of doing what he accuses Watson of doing. And someone with “the world against him” doesn’t have a guaranteed $230 million to rest on. Garrett calling Winston a model citizen is a slap within the face. I actually have asked previously why Watson’s teammates so quietly refused to share a locker room with someone accused of sexual harassment. In a league that excommunicates players it doesn’t like on a regular basis (ask Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson, for example), why hasn’t this happened in Cleveland yet? Unfortunately, Winston and Garrett gave us a glimpse into a locker room that simply didn’t consider Watson’s alleged crimes egregious enough to speak out against him. Players like Winston and Garrett might argue that playing against their very own quarterback can be unpopular, but defending someone with Watson’s history should not be that unpopular.

Perhaps probably the most disappointing reaction of the night got here from Ohio State’s LeBron James. He he tweeted his disappointment on fans booing Watson: “Cleveland fans! You all know how much we have been through over the years, both good, bad and indifferent. With that in mind, booing anyone who is injured, let alone your own player, is LAME AF,” he wrote.

James is not latest to his support of Watson. He sent out a celebratory tweet when Watson joined Browns in 2022. It’s a sad irony after we visit James’ timeline on X, formerly generally known as Twitter, and see that his last two tweets are in regards to the WNBA Finals, followed by a tweet expressing support for a man accused of molesting women.

James’ tweet. Support from Watson’s teammates. The boos that grew louder for Watson after his poor play allowed people like Watson to flourish within the face of terrible accusations. Every celebration, lost ticket and jersey purchased while Watson was a Brown was confirmation that even what he was accused of wasn’t enough to demand the team play higher. Each of these ways of supporting the team is not less than passive support for a terrible decision. And that does not even count the fans who fully supported Watson despite – or because of – what he was accused of.

Watson’s profession might be over. All that is still is the necessity for many individuals to look in lots of mirrors and wonder how we ever allowed his profession to get this far.

‘Love is Blind’ cast member Alex Byrd explains his side of the story

Facing widespread scrutiny following her mid-season split from fellow contestant Tim Godbee, Love is Blind Season 7’s Alex Byrd would really like to make clear a number of things.

In a recent interview with VultureThe 33-year-old reality star gave her version of what really happened off-camera between her and Godbee before the pair finally ended up back home in Washington, DC.

While their breakup happened on camera, most of their conversations didn’t occur. According to Byrd, Godbee wanted many of their disagreements to stay off-camera and “it wasn’t a mutual decision.”

“Tim was very, very strategic about what he talked about on camera, and I allowed that because if he didn’t want to share something, he didn’t have to,” she told the publication. “But I will say that if something was bothering him, he didn’t address it until we got off camera.”

One of the few things Godbee mentioned on camera was an incident by which he claimed Byrd “covered his mouth” during an off-camera argument. Byrd disputed this account, claiming it was more of a gesture than a physical motion.

After connecting and sharing uncanny similarities in the pod, Byrd and Godbee became engaged without ever seeing one another before during the seventh US season of Love is Blind. With players from the Washington area involved, things got worse for the former couple after their Cabo “honeymoon.”

The couple broke up during a heated conversation after a parents’ meeting. Byrd told Vulture that despite the increasing level of disagreement between the pair off-camera, she wasn’t fully prepared for the conversation.

“I thought we were getting into a discussion about what this whole week was like,” she said.

She also explained that she ate during the breakup because she was “so hungry” and didn’t expect the conversation to change into so serious.

Before the split, during the first meeting with Godbee’s parents, many questioned the way Byrd seemingly lazily hugged them with one arm.

“I definitely wasn’t in the best mood and it had nothing to do with them,” she said. “In particular, it was the fact that you saw Tim read the letter to my father, and it was a very emotional moment. Then he and I had a discussion and he expressed that he was still unsure about certain things. I didn’t feel comfortable bringing more family members into our relationship if we weren’t going to continue it.”

Those who watch this season may do not forget that Godbee took issue with the nap Byrd allegedly took after meeting his parents. According to Byrd, her future in-laws didn’t take offense to her have to rest after an extended day of filming.

“I was with his family all day that day,” she explained. “We each went and even had lunch. It was a really wonderful day. I used to be just exhausted and needed to be somewhere later that evening.

On October 16, per week after their breakup, it aired Godbee took to social media to inform their side of the story, although most of it was kept off camera during filming.

“When love, authenticity and respect are consistently met with a lack of effort, constant antagonism and a lack of respect for one’s physical and mental space, it must be met in a firm and unambiguous way,” he wrote. “Many things have been omitted of our history, and a few of it comes from attempting to protect something that was once dear to me.

Since their breakup aired on the popular Netflix dating series, many individuals have criticized each Byrd and Godbee. But Byrd feels the love from the napping community that supports her online.

“It’s so funny,” she said, adding, “I’m just riding the wave because I really love napping.”

Published

Hollywood filmmaker Tyler Perry is thought for his inspirational messages in his movies and speeches, which normally end with a feel-good feeling, indicating his strong faith and Christian beliefs.

But the 55-year-old New Orleans-born and raised billionaire probably appreciates the bounce-and-shake culture greater than most individuals think.

Still, fans were stunned when footage of “The Six Triple Eight” producer raining down on exotic dancers during Usher’s recent concert in Atlanta appeared online on Sunday, October 20.

Several clips have made their way online, including one from a mobile phone common in keeping with Spiritual Word, where a girl could be seen twerking in front of the Madea creator before falling apart.

Then the owner of Tyler Perry Studios starts throwing dollar bills, whispers something in her ear and continues tilting, spreading her legs wide apart.

Usher, dressed in a floor-length fur coat and carrying a red leather bag filled with money, strolls by with a stack of money in his hand. The camera then pans back to Perry, who steps out of the gang and says, “I’m leaving.”

Of course, the comments section on the gossip site was filled with comments, and lots of them related to his most famous character.

– Madea, what are you doing here? one person added, while one other joked about what he told her, writing: “Madea said, ‘Take it and buy some clothes, honey…. go cover yourself.”

Two other people joked: “Tyler Perry whispered in her ear ‘you don’t have to do this'” and “He whispered ‘I have a movie role for you’.”

One sensible mind suggested that Perry was simply searching for inspiration for his next title, and some even got here up with the title to put in writing “Madea Goes To Magic City.”

People also said how crazy it should have been to see Perry there, chilling like many men his age with money.

“Turning around and seeing the ingredients to make Madea from scratch is like having dollars thrown at you, just a weird feeling,” one person wrote.

The footage surfaced just days before Perry’s latest TV series, “Beauty in black”, which will probably be released on October 24.

The 16-episode series follows a struggling stripper whose life is turned the wrong way up after crossing paths with a wealthy but troubled family that dominates the wonder industry.

The forged includes several of his longtime actors from other series resembling “For Better and for Worse” and “Acrimony.” From ‘Divorce in Black’ Richard Lawson, Debbie Morgan and Taylor Polidore Williams joined ‘Beauty In the Black’.

After “Black Divorce” was released and hailed as certainly one of the worst movies ever made, many accused Perry of exploiting Black trauma to create a movie tied to a messy divorce that ends brutally for one party.

Cory Hardrict, Meagan Good and Richard Lawson were recently in the means of finalizing their divorces from Tia Mowry, DeVon Franklin and Tina Knowles.

Comedian Loni Love urged Perry to rent black writers and directors who specialize in the discipline, suggesting it will make for higher projects.

After criticism of his work, Perry responded in July on Keke Palmer’s “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” podcast.

“You have to drown it all out, because if you let anyone take you out of the place God has put you in, you will end up in hell,” he declared. “I know for sure that what I’m doing is exactly what I’m supposed to be doing.”

He said he understood that individuals saw him as “a tall black man who hangs in the air with his nose up and looks at everything, and then there are people like me, where I come from, and me, who are millwrights.”

However, he says to doubters and negative critics: “Don’t underestimate these people and say that their story doesn’t matter. Who are you to come to a decision which Black stories are essential or ought to be told? Get out of here with that bitch!

Currently, Tyler Perry Studios is working with Good’s ex, Franklin, to bring the faith-based love story titled “R&B” to the screen. Inspired by the biblical story of Ruth and Boaz, the grandparents of King David, the film goals to supply a contemporary take on the classic story of affection and faith.

According to Variety, the film will happen in Tennessee and follows a young woman who leaves the Atlanta music scene to look after an elderly widow. In this fashion, she discovers the love of her life and gains the mother figure she never had.

Perry withdraws from directing this project, giving the role to Alanna Brown.

He didn’t write the script either; The screenplay was written by Philadelphia native Michael Elliot, known for “Brown Sugar,” “Just Wright” and “Like Mike,” together with Cory Tynan, who wrote “Play’d.”

The film stars Serayah, Tyler Lepley and Phylicia Rashad.

Perry was criticized for not handing over the reins of his projects to others and taking full responsibility. But it looks like he’s listening to his fans for now.
