Celebrity ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole has gained popularity again after Angel Reese released the most recent episode of her podcast “Unapologetically Angel.”

During the episode, Reese asked Kayla Nicole several questions on her past romances, including her previous relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

When asked in regards to the “craziest thing” she’s ever done since her breakup, the model and influencer decided to the touch on one other relationship outside of her popular profession as an NFL player. Trying to remain coy, Kayla Nicole revealed that the craziest thing she ever did after a breakup was dressing up as her ex’s recent girlfriend.

“I was dating a guy and he dumped me over text,” she explained throughout the episode. “And he dumped me for this singer and actress who was famous at the time. … He dumped me for her, lied for months, (and) then he went out with her. It became sort of a public event.”

Kayla, who dated Travis Kelce from 2017 to 2022 before he began dating pop star Taylor Swift, further explained that her ex’s recent relationship has change into a “celebrity icon relationship.” She said she was “devastated” due to all the eye they were receiving.

“I’m devastated. I just moved to New York to be with this person and live with him. That was the whole thing,” he tells Chicago Sky, adding: “He’s breaking up with me. She dumps me, leaves, and this 12 months for Halloween I dressed up as her.

Kayla thought people would not find a way to guess who she was, but inside hours of the episode premiering, she began trending on social media as fans looked through her past Halloween costumes attempting to work out who she was talking about.

Many people pointed to a November 1, 2016 Twitter post by which Kayla dressed as Teyana Taylor in an outfit from Kanye West’s 2016 music video “Fade.”

Detectives decided she should have been referring to Iman Shumpert, Taylor’s ex-husband and father of her two children.

Taylor quickly responded, posting to her Instagram Story a clip of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes saying, “Everyone, get ready to do the math” on an episode of VH1’s “Behind the Music: TLC.”

Things began to maneuver quickly for the couple, and the next 12 months, in 2015, the couple announced their engagement and welcomed their first child, Junie, in December.

In 2016, they secretly married at their home.

The couple continued to expand their family, celebrating the birth of their second child, Rue Rose, in September 2020.

However, in September 2023, their relationship took a turn for the more serious when Taylor revealed that the 2 had split up, explaining that infidelity was not the rationale for the split.

In January 2024, Shumpert filed for divorce.

Swifties chimed in within the comments, clarifying that Taylor is just not the person she was talking about. One commenter asked: “She was left for Teyana TAYLOR and then TAYLOR Swift!?”

Others wondered why she shared this story.

“Kayla should really keep that L in a vault,” one person joked when told the entire story.

As people tried to persist with the mathematics, one person guessed: “She was probably messing with a married man… Or she was still obsessed with the man she dated 3 years ago… But the photos are there.”

The commenter added the bombshell: “Yeesh…Kayla was dating Iman while Iman was engaged/married to Teyana.”

Teyana Taylor quickly took to The Shade Room’s comments section to defend herself against Kayla Nicole, calling her comments “distasteful.”

“It’s really crazy that everyone seems to be allowed to hassle me and be obnoxious… EVERYONE can rejoice… while I move gracefully. ALWAYS! But now I also wish to rejoice like just a little shooter and that is the problem,” Teyana began.

“F.-k, as for the person, I am divorced and happy, however her choice of words was very distasteful and inappropriate,” Taylor continued. “She knew exactly what she was doing. The lady said she ‘was famous at the time,’” she also said “idc who saw it, it was very distasteful and inappropriate. And most importantly, she knew people would dig. This way my name automatically gets attached to this nonsense.”

Teyana continued her rant: “She didn’t have to @ me at this point, it was clearly a quick search. My name was trending without @ before I even said the word. That’s how I saw it! lol Except that math isn’t math and facts aren’t facts. However, the level of scare factor was there. Lots of laughs. Like the world, I learn that her intentions were sick and petty. She pulled the black card when it came to Taylor Swift, but in the same circle, she turned around and tried to abuse the black woman who was married to her situation, where she claimed she “dumped her” for me. Why dress up like me??”

She concluded, “The crazy thing about this is that I actually showed love under her photo when she posted it! Like the other 3736262626 people who dressed up as me for Halloween. I didn’t even know she was a suspect the whole time. Now yes. Then petite panties had fun. I said what I said, and now I’m done and back on schedule!”

Taylor added an exclamation point when posting on Instagram about her upcoming 2025 film and TV deals, with Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” playing within the background.

Kayla sensed the response she was getting and decided to reply on her own.

“Sometimes I am asked about my personal life and I decide to share the lessons I have learned,” she said. “To repeat what I said in the hour-long interview, learn from my mistakes. If you watched the whole thing, you would know that I do not condone the “crazy” decision I made literally 10 YEARS AGO.”
