Ray J hosts a news show on YouTube called “The Reality Check”. I have many questions

To know me is to know that I am a fan of William Ray Norwood Jr., higher known to the world as Ray J. While it is commonly easy to make jokes about Ray Jr., I would argue that he’s certainly one of the more significant contributors to black popular culture, especially in recent times 20 years. One day there will likely be documentaries and books about his importance, but today we get a take a look at his latest attempt at oversharing, “The Reality Check,” or perhaps “The Reality Check with Ray J.” The show’s branding is unclear as to its actual title; the film’s description reads “The Reality Check,” however the show’s branding is “The Reality Check with Ray J.” This disconnect goes a long technique to explaining how absurd this primary episode is.
Set up as a news outlet, a single-frame, long-form commentary/monologue show (think the favored video essays “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” but with Ray J.) in the primary episode, Ray J weighs in on Sean’s ” Diddy’s legal problems Combs, however, is mainly concerned with comments on this topic and… baby oil; co-parenting tips without giving directions; random fragment about the economy; and finally, the upcoming presidential election, although he draws attention to it may not vote because there are too many decisions within the upcoming local elections and learning just isn’t fun about local politics.
Despite my involvement with Ray J. and his antics, that does not imply I’m not as confused as anyone else who may be watching his movements. So I have a lot of questions based on the 12-minute video I just watched.
1. Bruh, WHAT?
The entire first Diddy segment features certainly one of these The WORST discussions about sexual violence I’ve ever heard in my life. How this didn’t get deleted explains Ray J’s entire experience in a nutshell: he goes on a whole rant about sexual violence, however it’s more of a joke that ends with a discussion about how it isn’t funny that individuals have babies jokes about oil. NOT LIKE THAT, RAY. This was such a bad concept that I really wonder if the entire thing is not a parody of what news has become within the era of talking heads. Thank God nobody takes him seriously, but phew, Chile.
2. Did Ray prepare in any respect?
I think it’s a easy no. It looks like he’s reading a few cue cards in regards to the economy, with a few facts he picked up from somewhere. Same with the knowledge about co-parenting, however it’s clearly nonsense. Ray J’s riffing shouldn’t have anything to do with it. It’s funny to an extent, however it’s also like, EDITING IS A THING, bro. No topic he has covered is in a higher place because Ray J.
3. Does this cause a larger rift between him and Brandy?
At Ray’sClub Shay Shay Interview.”he noticed that he and Brandy weren’t on good terms right away. There’s no way she hasn’t seen the clip floating around of him jokingly talking about rape, which makes her pick up the phone. I imagine Brandy rolls her eyes a lot in relation to Ray J.
Lifestyle
4. Is this a parody?
I really cannot say. If we discovered that Ray J was attempting to create a “Chappelle’s Show”-style talking head parody, I would consider it. That could be the one thing that will make this whole thing make sense. Maybe he just seems like sharing his opinion on something and has the cash to provide something quite than simply make a video for IG, but I still don’t fully consider that is Ray’s serious move into anything.
5. Did his parents ever call him and say, “Just stop!”
My parents are very supportive of my efforts. I feel like there’s a queue. Ray J is a megastar who has done a lot of interviews, and I imagine his mother calls him after many of them and asks if he was high or not, or what the hell he was pondering. I imagine his mother is asking now and asking him to stop while he’s ahead or he’d higher maintain it. It’s not like anyone is asking Ray J’s opinion on many things, so no great harm is being done here. Ray doesn’t exactly influence the electorate, although on this case Ray not voting looks like a victory for all of us. But still, I wonder if Sonja Norwood sometimes just asks him to take a seat down for a while.
6. Could the situation worsen?
I’m going to proceed to observe and support a lot of the things Ray J does. I’m the one who has said publicly and loudly that I wish to be Ray J’s Alex Haley, so forgive me for being overly supportive of the bullshit, but I really hope that whatever he does gets higher, because that first episode was HOT. Of course, if it’s a parody, then none of that matters and it stuck the landing perfectly. Somehow I don’t think that is a joke though, so I hope someone within the Ray J. camp gets this brother some writers.
7. Could Ray J actually turn into a real talking head?
Absolutely, he could. If Cam’ron and Mase make significant contributions to the sports space, Ray J will certainly find a place in every little thing he does. I would not be surprised if Cam and Mase’s show “It Is What It Is” became the inspiration for Ray’s recent enterprise. Having said that, Ray was never a guy that individuals intentionally wanted to listen to; you hear him say out-of-the-box things after the actual fact and also you appreciate him. To be a conversation creator, Ray will have to do a higher job. Who knows, possibly he could turn into the subsequent Roland Martin or John Oliver of the black community. But “I may not vote” content just isn’t that, bro. With that said, I’ll report back once it’s played a few more episodes. We may very well be on the verge of greatness.
Or not. With Ray J, literally anything is feasible.
