The loss of the black stars signals the end of an era – Andscape

Published

2024 has been a painful 12 months by which we have now lost too many sensible cultural sparks. On September 10, Tito Jackson gave his last live performance on stage at the Circus Krone in Munich, Germany. The 70-12 months-old guitarist and vocalist was on tour as part of The Jacksons along with his brothers Marlon and Jackie and son Taryll, and the normally reserved musician experienced the moments along with his heart on his sleeve. “We’re all the same people… so we have to love each other,” the easy-minded founder of the legendary Jackson 5 told fans, wearing his signature bowler hat and a black sequined jacket.

Moving on to his 2021 single “Love one another” which featured vocalist Stevie Wonder, and Jackson’s guitar riff echoed throughout the 3,000-seat arena. It was a reminder that the third oldest member of the Jacksons and the American musical family that produced the Jackson Five; King of Pop, Michael Jackson; and younger sister Janet Jackson – has at all times been considered the most “normal” sibling of the Gary, Indiana native. Five days later, on September 15, Jackson suffered a heart attack and died while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma.

“I was surprised at how good, fluid and graceful his touch was on the guitar,” recalls lead guitarist Gregg Wright, who toured with Michael Jackson and The Jacksons on the 1984 tour. “This guy he was a blues musicianperiod. He wasn’t influenced by the blues or influenced the playing of the blues. Tito was a bluesman. You could have taken him to Louisiana or Mississippi and every part would have been tremendous.

Jackson’s death was particularly painful following the death of two-time Tony Award-winning actor James Earl Jones, who died on September 9, and the death of Maze founder and frontman Frankie Beverly, who died on September 10.

Influential rapper Rich Homie Quan, who died on September 5 at the age of 34 in an Atlanta hospital accidental drug overdosewas one of the city’s brightest stars and released hits resembling “Kind of way“, “Lifestyle“And”Flex (Oh, Oh, Oh)

Fatman Scoop, a well-liked New York radio DJ who made a splash with hits resembling “Drop” by Magoo and Timbaland and “Lose control” Missy Elliott and Ciara in 2005 collapsed and died during a performance on August 30 in Connecticut. He was 53 years old. Earlier this 12 months, there have been other deaths in the hip-hop world, including Chino XL; Kool G Rapp’s former partner DJ Polo; Enchanting, rapper 1017 and protégé of Gucci Mane; and DJ Mister Cee.

The dance community was also left devastated after death on September 10 Michaela DePrincea ballerina who performed with the Boston Balletand in Beyoncé’s groundbreaking 2016 film. She was 29 years old. Glover the catThe 60-12 months-old singer, dancer and choreographer, who worked with Prince on his albums in addition to related tours and videos in the late Nineteen Eighties, died on September 24.

AND death of actor John Amos was officially announced this week (his son Kelly Christopher Amos said his father died on August 21 in Los Angeles). His standout roles included weatherman Gordy Howard in; iconic strong-willed dad James Evans Sr. on the classic ’70s sitcom; the elder Kunta Kinte in the miniseries, for which he was nominated for an Emmy in 1977; and as no-nonsense burger chain owner Cleo McDowell in .

Black America’s favorite uncle, Beverly and Maze, thrived after the Nineteen Sixties, when most record labels had “urban music” divisions. They have released a string of gold records, creating favorites resembling “Happy Feelin“, “Southern girl“And”Before I let go”, although they remained forgotten amongst fans and critics of white pop and rock music. Like the Grateful Dead, Maze was an anomaly: an age-defying touring band whose everlasting stage legend sometimes overshadowed its studio output.

And Jackson was elevated by black musical royalty. The Jackson 5 became the first group in history to top the Billboard Hot 100 4 times in a row:I would like you back” (1969) after which “ABC“, “The love you save“And”I’ll be there” (1970), eventually selling as much as 150 million records worldwide.

Jackson later demonstrated his guitar skills with the gold and platinum releases , released in 1976, (1978) and (1980), in addition to session work on Betty Wright’s self-titled album in 1981. However, this was a challenge for the musician at times. seriously. It became the punch line in comedian Eddie Murphy’s film “1983.” TV special .

Of course, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer would have the last laugh, achieving solo success along with his 2016 debut single “Get it, baby” which peaked at No. 20 on Billboard’s Adult R&B chart.

The impact of Jackson, Jones, Beverly and others who’ve left us in 2024 reinforces the concept that the arts are greater than just fodder for Stans to attain points for trade and bag-securing dominance. In one word… it’s timeless.

Wendy Williams’ ex-husband lashed out after he claimed the talk show host hid $48 million from him during their divorce; Fans believe he is fighting for money

Published

on

By

The ex-husband and ex-manager of Wendy Williams, Kevin Hunter (57), doesn’t forgive his ex-wife, who now claims that he was cheated in the final divorce decree.

The former radio DJ married Kevin Hunter on November 30, 1999. Citing irreconcilable differences, she filed for divorce in 2019, which was finalized in 2020. The divorce got here after she discovered that Hunter had welcomed a toddler together with his lover Sharina Hudson.

Sun reports that Hunter filed papers asking the court to “settle and set aside” the settlement with Williams, 60. He asked for judgment based on “fraud, misrepresentation and misconduct.”

The gossip queen and the longtime producer of her self-titled daytime talk show share a son, 24-year-old Kevin Hunter Jr.

After their separation, they argued over funds, with Hunter Sr. continuing to demand the $250,000 monthly alimony he was receiving until months before “The Wendy Williams Show” ended. Wells Fargo’s May 2019 portfolio report showed Wendy’s “total holdings” at $7.3 million.

The situation became more complicated when Williams’ best friend, Regina Schell, filed an affidavit in a New Jersey court. Schell stated that in 2022, the Radio Hall of Famer had $55 million in her Wells Fargo accounts.

According to Schell, while living with Williams in July 2022, she saw the New Jersey resident’s amassed bank balance. Schell also stated that Wendy was considering switching financial institutions and met with Bank of America in December 2022.

Hunter cited Schell’s statement in his latest court documents, alleging that $48 million was “fraudulently concealed” in reference to the divorce. However, Wendy’s guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, rejected Schell’s claims and Hunter’s assumptions.

“I cannot comment on what (Schell) believes she saw or heard, what she believes a third party heard, or what that third party may or may not have reported to (Schell),” Morrissey argued in her response filed on Williams’ behalf.

Additionally, Morrissey asserted that Hunter had “no personal knowledge” that his ex-wife had shown Schell her financial statements. Morrissey believed that Hunter had no grounds to reopen the divorce proceedings.

Meanwhile, Hunter continues to query whether Morrissey has the “legal standing” to represent his ex in the legal proceedings, as she became Wendy’s guardian two years after the divorce was finalized.

“SM. Morrissey is a lawyer in New York, not New Jersey, and although she claims to have been appointed as a Guardian in New York, her Guardianship does not extend to this court because New Jersey has not established a Guardianship,” reads the documents filed by Hunter in July.

In September, a judge gave Morrissey 21 days to prove he had the authority to represent Williams in the case.

“Kelvin, go get a job. You bit the hand that fed you, now live with the consequences of your actions. Find a JOB,” wrote one person Daily Mail.comments section.

Another Williams supporter wrote: “Don’t do this with Kevin. During their marriage, he took enough of Wendy’s money and spent it on his allowance. Move, Kevin!”

Hunter has his own publishing company and has began many businesses that weren’t very profitable. In July 2023, he was sued for a $20,000 bank card bill and likewise sold two luxury cars to a lending company. Last October, Hunter sold his $1.2 million Florida home for which he didn’t pay HOA fees. Some believe that he is still struggling and wishes money to support himself.

One person said: “Kevin owes child support to his child’s mom/ex-lover. This is nothing more than taking out dirty money! I hope he doesn’t get a penny! Poor Wendy, between Kevin and her adult son spending her money!”

Another said: “He and his mistress can’t afford to live now. Ha.”

Two others told off-duty publicists: “Request denied! You’ve done enough research. and “Dude, get a job and stop mocking your ex.”

A like-minded commenter told Hunter, “You should show respect and gratitude to Wendy, who loved you and gave you a privileged life. Instead, you misbehaved and turned on her. Your plans backfired… Move on. How are you, Wendy!?

Wendy’s current financial situation stays unclear based on public statements from the parties involved. Her publicist claimed to have overheard a conversation during which Morrissey admitted that Wendy did not have any money in her account.

Additionally, a 2024 Lifetime docuseries titled “Where’s Wendy Williams?” it included a scene during which Williams stated, “I don’t have any money.” The trailer for the four-part show highlighted Wendy’s announcement about potentially going broke.

Both sides of the Wendy Williams vs. Kevin Hunter lawsuit used different legal tactics. For example, in April 2024, Sabrina Morrissey demanded that Hunter pay back $112,000 in overpaid child support plus accrued interest.

Morrissey believed Hunter had unintentionally obtained the funds using an “auto-pay feature.” The divorce agreement allegedly stipulates that his severance package can be terminated if Williams’ annual income falls below lower than twice her annual salary as of February 1, 2020.

Documents filed by Morrissey show Williams only received two remaining payments after “The Wendy Williams Show” resulted in 2022 – $1,952 in February 2022 and $59 in January 2023.

However, Hunter desires to receive 23 months of back spousal support payments from Williams. He argued that Wendy cut off child support before court-ordered guardianship was established in May 2022 attributable to her poor health. He said she stopped receiving payments in February this 12 months.

Wendy suffers from Graves’ disease, thyroid problems, aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. The former radio shocker also spoke openly about entering rehab for drug and alcohol abuse. From all of Hunter’s recent testimony, it seems that he has never shown any concern for his ex-wife’s health.

“That’s all he cares about…HER money! I never read him asking about her health.

Alleged federal crimes against 54-year-old Sean “Diddy” Combs proceed to attract other stars into conversations about possible sex parties in the entertainment industry.

An old quote from Chrissy Teigen, 38, about a personal moment with husband John Legend, 45, resurfaced as questions about Diddy’s alleged criminal activities surfaced online.

Combs faces federal charges of racketeering conspiracy, forcible sex trafficking, fraud or coercion, and transportation for the needs of prostitution. The U.S. Attorney’s Office also cited additional crimes akin to kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice. He faces 10 years to life in prison.

Damian Williams, the United States attorney for the Southern District of New York, accused Combs of running a criminal enterprise that facilitated his abuse and exploitation of ladies and men from 2008 to 2024.

Some of the alleged inappropriate behavior allegedly occurred during “highs” or all-night parties hosted by Diddy. The founding father of Bad Boy Entertainment allegedly recorded these sessions and threatened to release the recordings to intimidate his victims.

Social media users have been speculating whether other stars, including the “All of Me” singer and his wife, attended Diddy’s parties, but these rumors haven’t been confirmed.

Teigen was recently brought into the conversation about Diddy’s alleged transgressions due to a February 2015 interview that was republished on “Extra.”

While on the Grammy Awards red carpet together with her spouse, Teigen pulled out an issue card asking her to disclose where she had sex in public. The TV personality replied, “Probably an Obama thing,” leaving Legend speechless and reporters shocked.

“Extra” correspondent AJ Calloway then reached out to Legend to offer further details about the couple’s intercourse during an event with Democratic politician Barack Obama.

Teigen’s husband replied, “I do not know. We won’t talk about it.”

However, the Grammy winner and his wife mentioned that there was no public sex at the White House. According to Legend, Obama has not yet been elected president. The segment ends with Teigen saying, “I’m sorry. I’m in trouble now.

Legend finally addressed what the “Obama thing” his wife was talking about. He recalled an erotic moment performing with Teigen on the late-night talk show “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” in 2016.

“It was during a campaign event that we happened to be at,” Legend stated, based on Refinery29. He explained that the sexual act took place in 2008, when Barack Obama was still a US senator. Teigen also admitted, “It was in the bathroom.”

“By the way, that was 2008 – let’s not take a 10-year loan,” Legend said.

The legend was honest Obama supporterran for president in 2008. The “Green Light” hitmaker also campaigned for Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in their 2016, 2020 and 2024 White House bids.

In 2021, the mother of 4 explained that it happened through the Democratic National Convention as a part of the “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts” episode on “The Late Late Show” with host James Corden.

Teigen noted that she and her husband of 11 years became close in the lavatory “a while ago,” and she or he even confessed that they once joined the mil-high club.

“On a plane, not even a private one, James,” Teigen admitted. “Public!”

The legend proposed to Teigen in December 2011. They married two years later, in September 2013, in Como, Italy. The Hollywood couple has 4 children – 8-year-old daughter Luna, 6-year-old son Miles, 1-year-old daughter Esti and 1-year-old son Wren.

Combs, who’s currently being held without bond at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, will likely face a jury in his federal racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking case. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, maintains his client is innocent. Combs pleaded not guilty to all charges.

“They are starting to portray this case as the murder of a successful black man,” Agnifilo argued Newsweek. “It’s the government that controls his activities, controls his taxes, and he does everything right.”
