John Amos’ family outraged by KC actor’s son, claims he hid actor’s death and secretly cremated him amid explosive family feud

Published

As previously reported, John Amos’ children proceed to spark speculation concerning the death of their 84-year-old father, who died on August 21 in California.

The news was broken by his son, Kelly Christopher “KC” Amos, 53, who informed county officials of the Emmy-nominated TV dad’s death.

The death of the actor best known for his role as James Evans Sr. on the Nineteen Seventies sitcom “Good Times” has sparked strife amongst his surviving family members, including Amos’ daughter, Shannon. However, the family doesn’t rule out against the law.

TMZ reports that based on his death certificate, Amos died at Inglewood Hospital of congestive heart failure. No autopsy was performed on Amos’s body, and nine days later, on August 30, he was cremated.

KC, who’s allegedly in possession of his father’s ashes, waited almost six weeks to publicly announce his father’s death, issuing an announcement on October 1.

In a shocking confession, the actor’s daughter, 57-year-old Shannon Amos, said she learned concerning the New Jersey resident’s death from press reports.

“We are devastated and have many questions about what happened 45 days ago and we learned about it from the media, as many of you did,” Shannon Amos wrote in her article Instagram caption October 1st.

Shannon later took to her Instagram Story to make some teasing allegations about her father’s final hours, noting, “The truth will come out.”

In one other article she wrote: “Someone was within the ER the night my father died and pretended to be his daughter. I’m his only daughter. We consider it was Belinda Foster, a girl also posing as his publicist.

Reports of bad blood between KC and Shannon have been circulating for years. In June 2023, Shannon stated that John Amos was a “victim of elder abuse and financial exploitation” by her brother.

John denied the allegations, and a Los Angeles Police Department investigation found no evidence of harassment. The ‘Coming to America’ forged member opened up concerning the conflict between her lineage during a December 2023 interview People.

“It’s quite scathing at the moment, but it doesn’t matter what you may read or hear in the newspaper or in this medium or on this platform,” John said. “Suffice it to say that we are still a family and we love each other, and that is the most important thing.”

November 2023 article by Hollywood reporter reported on KC Amos’s cross-country travels with John Amos. Their trips were filmed for TikTok and for a feature-length documentary about John titled “America’s Dad.”

John was quoted as saying he believed his estranged daughter Shannon took advantage of him “financially” and “emotionally.” These comments reportedly occurred during a phone call between the actor and his lawyers in June 2023.

In response to the abuse allegations, Shannon told the web site: “He was brainwashed by my brother.” John’s goddaughter, Amy Goudy, claimed the “Roots” star told her he didn’t remember him making such comments about her daughter.

Amy Goudy also recently commented on the news about John Amos’ departure from the media and KC’s alleged cheating. In an October 1 Instagram post, she declared, “KC will rot for this.”

Additionally, Goudy shared a story on Instagram with a caption that read: “(John Amos) died on August 21st and KC didn’t tell anyone… not John’s daughter or granddaughter… not his manager… anyone. The level of evil is indescribable.”

She reinforced Shannon’s claim that another person was present during Amos’ final hours.

“We dropped the elder abuse claims when KC kidnapped John from the hospital. But now we would like the world to understand how diabolical he is. He wasn’t even there for John when he died. “BELINDA FOSTER, who is the ‘representative,’ lied and said she was his daughter… and they hid the fact that he died for forty-five days.”

Goudy included an alleged screenshot of an exchange between Shannon and a girl who stated, “My daughter was working within the ER the night he died. It really hurt her. I just wonder why my daughter waited so long to announce this information. She was the (only) family member who was with him that night.

Shannon replied, “Because it wasn’t me. I’m his only daughter, and that woman lied. We only found out about it today along with the rest of the world.”

John’s granddaughter also released a public statement concerning the situation. Quiera Williams wrote on her Instagram story: “I appreciate all the concern (and) messages. I don’t feel well, so I’m going to unplug. I will come back to you when I can. My grandfather died on August 21!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Williams further expressed how upset she was when she came upon her grandfather had shared the video on social media. She said, “Let me get just a little insight into what’s really happening. My uncle shouldn’t be innocent. At all. You knew that. You didn’t tell us. I came upon about it on social media together with the remainder of the world.

In the since-deleted post, Williams continued: “There is not any revenge because people who find themselves inherently ugly on the within destroy their lives anyway.

Shannon and KC Amos are the one children from John Amos’ first marriage to Noel “Noni” Mickelson. They married in 1965 and divorced in 1975.

The widow’s welfare also caused a rift between her two children. After Noni was left blind on account of an aneurysm and stroke in 1996, Shannon and KC had a falling out over proposed solutions for his or her ailing mother and the estate funds from a medical malpractice settlement.

KC reportedly revealed online that his mother died in June 2017, but Shannon told The Hollywood Reporter that Noni died in 2016. This is all too familiar to the Amos family, who say John suffered from dementia.

“Our father suffered from dementia, and KC often verbally prompted John to create a narrative that was not true on social media. “We were deeply concerned that our father may have been neglected and isolated in the final days of his life when we received photos from concerned neighbors and a doctor,” Goudy wrote in an announcement on Facebook on behalf of the family.

“One photo even led to an elder abuse investigation, but to no avail. This situation mirrors the death of Shannon and KC’s mother. The Central Committee also prevented family members from being present together and making decisions. “Shannon fought to be by her mother’s side and give her freedom in her final days,” she continued.

Goudy further claimed that the “Gamer’s Club” star had been “isolated” from family and close friends for the past yr and that John “was cremated without the family’s knowledge.”

She believes her godfather was exploited by KC, Eugene Brummer and Belinda Foster, who claims to have been John’s spokeswoman.

“We suspect that these actions may have been taken in order to amend potential wills and obtain life insurance or other benefits,” Goudy added. “This is even more disturbing given KC’s struggles with addiction and mental health issues, as well as his previous arrests.”

In July 2023, KC was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill his sister and sending her photos of a gun weeks after she had him removed under their dad’s medical power of attorney.

Amos’s family is actively working to seek out out what happened in the ultimate hours of his life.

One friend recounted the events leading as much as the incident, saying, “It was about 3 a.m. They were trying to get out of there and they were both under the influence of alcohol. There was a huge queue for taxis.”

He continued: “(Jane) went up to 1 of the butlers and offered him €100 or something to get to the front of the road. She told me she put her hand on his shoulder. Doug obviously thought she was flirting and walked over and punched her within the face.

The friend, described as a number one New York businessman, said the lady called him while she was in a taxi with Emhoff and that “it was hard to hear her because she was sobbing.” The friend later added: “I didn’t know what to do, I didn’t know whether to call the French police. After calling back, I was unable to reach her.”

A second friend, described only as a lawyer, told an analogous story about what happened that night. She said: “They had dinner. She said Doug could be very sweet and charming. She continued: “I asked her if he ever apologized. She replied no, but he commented on the punch she gave him. It was a tennis metaphor. But no apologies.” She added: “All he told her was, ‘Don’t worry, you’ve got got one all over the pitch.’

Commenters on social media reacted to the headline on the NY Post’s Instagram page, questioning the validity of the story and comparing Emhoff’s actions to those of former President Donald Trump, who’s currently running against Harris.

Observers wrote: “And Trump is accused of sexually assaulting multiple women. Actual POTUS candidate” and “No, show us the police report… oh, you don’t have it, do you.” A 3rd person said: “Lol you guys are reaching hard.”

Friends said that after the incident, Emhoff ended the trip early to attend his daughter’s birthday celebration in Los Angeles they usually have never seen one another since.

The unnamed girl declined to comment, and Emhoff and Harris have yet to reply.

A throwback to Mos Def’s 1999 debut album ‘Black on Both Sides’ – 25 years later

thegrio.com, yasiin bey, mos def, black on both sides, hip-hop, talib kweli

There are a couple of songs that I remember vividly the primary time I heard them (or saw them, if the video was my introduction). Outkast’s “Elevators (Me & U)” and Juvenile’s “Ha” immediately come to mind – each songs have had such an impact on my life that I even remember where I used to be when these songs became a component of my life. Black Star “Definition” that is one other one in all those records. The video aired on “Rap City” the summer before my sophomore yr of school in 1998, and as I sat on the couch, I immediately knew two things: 1) I used to be going to buy any album by these two rappers, Mos Def (now Yasiin Bey) and Talib Kweli released; and a couple of) Mos Def was

Some artists just have that something, that elusive quality that makes you are feeling like you are looking at a star. Mos Def was one in all those cats. From the opening bars: “From the first to the last, the message is passionate, the whole, not the half, the vocabulary, not the math…” I felt that he was a rapper I needed to know more about and wanted to hear more from. Black Star’s debut album “Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Black Star” released on September 29, 1998 (the most important release date in hip-hop history) didn’t disappoint. Both songwriters and producer Hi-Tek created an album that received critical acclaim. While I liked it, I didn’t prefer it, but it surely kept me waiting for what I (and everybody else) knew on the time. There was no way Mos Def would not release an album soon. The streets were asking for it.

And then, within the late summer of 1999, the primary single was released, “SM. Fat ass. Wait, did Mos Def, a rapper who could do almost anything lyrically, make a record that was flawless for each men and ladies? Yes. Yes, he did it. Have you ever heard a record that managed to tick all the best boxes instantly? He had rhythm, rhyme, life, ease of reference and the flexibility to work on the dance floor. Mos released the one, which became an fast classic and stays so to at the present time.

In 1999, it was the Mos Def experience. When Black on Both Sides was released in October 1999 – on October 12, to be precise – Mos had someway managed to release an album that was overly black, political, entertaining, rooted in real experiences, conspiratorial, respectful, offended, optimistic and prophetic. .

(*25*)Lifestyle

introductory disc, “Don’t be afraid of man” which borrows each its title and beat from Fela Kuti’s 1977 song and album of the identical name, opens with Mos’s statement and warning concerning the state of hip-hop, with Mos simply stating that whatever happens to people that is what what is going on to occur with hip-hop. These words ring more true in 2024 than I believe even Mos expected 25 years ago. Music reflects community and environment much more today with the appearance of social media than it ever did in 1999.

Black on Both Sides is an album filled with such moments. Many provisions are still valid in 2024. “I have” talks about how easy it’s to get robbed on the road if you happen to’re not being attentive, and unfortunately that is a lesson that many rappers have yet to learn. “Mr. Nigger” is a reminder that irrespective of what you achieve in life, society still prefers to see Black people as lower than ever possible. “Water of the New World” is made for the conspiracy theorist in all of us and you recognize what, the Internet has made conspiracy theories a component of on a regular basis life, the difference is that many conspiracy theories haven’t got that much reach.

The point is that Mos Def’s album, a classic by any definition of the word, can also be incredibly timely because Mos selected to focus on the human experience of being a black man in America and, in some cases, use real-life examples to make it work. It deals with the appropriation of black culture through music, specifically rock ‘n’ roll, and it is a conversation we’re still having and one which shows no signs of ending. Pop culture has borrowed and outright stolen black culture for profit, and it has been going on for so long as black art has been able to be commodified. Certainly, the material of the album shouldn’t be modern, but the whole lot in a single place and with such a transparent way of conveying the actual production – well, Mos Def is one in all the few who created an inventive work that has a lot power in a single package.

Surprisingly, thanks to the samples and production decisions made, the album doesn’t feel dated either. Sure, there are signs that the album is not recent, but there’s not a single mention of social media on the album. But someway that does not detract from the album’s impact. Just like most classic love songs omit words and phrases that might indicate their date, “Black on Both Sides” does this and I feel like I could introduce this album to someone in 2024 they usually might think it’s something recent. That’s a feat in itself. All while being Black on each side, a nod to the phrase “give me five on the side of the Black hand.”

“Black on Both Sides” is timeless hip-hop. It’s math.
