Chris Tucker Accused of Shady Business, Stealing Ex-Friend

Vonte Sweet accused Chris Tucker of shady dealings in a recent interview.

In the early ’90s, Vonte Sweet was one of the rising stars of black Hollywood, charming audiences with performances in movies equivalent to “Boys n the Hood,” “Menace II Society” and “Predator 2.” As his profession took off, Sweet set out to help others, including comedian Chris Tucker, break into the acting scene.

Sweet claims he played a key role in casting Tucker as Skip on Dead Presidents, but their friendship modified when Sweet accused the Def Comedy Jam alum of cheating on him.

According to Sweet, Tucker tried to take his ideas after which push them to ABC behind his back.

In a candid interview for “The Art of DialogueSweet shared the deep pain he felt over Tucker’s actions, revealing that he felt his former friend had stooped to a level that even “the devil” would not reach.

After introducing Tucker to the Hughes brothers for the film, the “Traffic” star saw Tucker’s profession begin to blossom. However, Sweet soon discovered that Tucker was meeting with networks to pitch projects that were actually Sweet’s ideas.

“I had a project, and Chris knew about it because Chris, like I said, was with me for years before he started acting,” Sweet explained to the Mighty Bolton host.

He claimed that he had shared the project with Tucker but had put it on hold for a while, although he had already copyrighted the idea.

Sweet said he began hearing rumors that Tucker was misrepresenting the project as his own. “I heard this n—ga is on all these networks with my sh—t,” he said.

Determined to confront Tucker, Sweet attempted to track him down, but his efforts were in vain.

“You couldn’t find him,” Sweet recalled. “But I knew who could find his s—, and I let them know to let him know that I knew what I knew… that he was somewhere he shouldn’t have been with my s—.”

Sweet continued, “So he knew I knew. And he hasn’t said a word to me since. He’s never tried to call me back and explain.”

Sweet even recalled taking Tucker to his church, City of Refuge: Church Los Angeles, led by pastor Bishop Noel Jones. The church played a big role in Tucker’s spiritual journey, and he stayed in contact with the pastor, even celebration his seventieth birthday in 2020.

But despite introducing Tucker to a spiritual mentor who would help shape his life and profession, Sweet felt something was still off about Tucker. “I sit next to this n—ga in church, and during the week this n—ga do some other sh—t. Damn, even the devil don’t do that sh—t,” Sweet said.

Sweet believes Tucker had no motive to steal his idea, saying ABC executives finally told him about the fraud when Tucker couldn’t close the deal after two or three years. “Nah, that n—ga took my s—t and made a deal without me, but he couldn’t close it because he knew it wasn’t his s—t,” Sweet said.

Fans reacted to the story with mixed feelings, noting Sweet’s relationship together with his friend Tyrin Turner, who also participated in the interview.

“Vonte was pissed and had flashbacks,” one person commented. “Note to self, don’t mention Chris Tucker in front of Vonte lol.”

Another fan compared the conversation to “hair salon conversations,” while one other noted, “Kat Williams told the truth. Everyone’s been exposed this year. Sad that you can grow up with someone and a little money can ruin your friendship.”

“No wonder Chris Tucker did such a great job on Money Talk,” wrote one other YouTube commenter

One fan, convinced of the truth of the story, suggested a path to reconciliation: “Chris, call Vonte. You owe him an apology.”

But for Sweet, the past is the past. “I’m not tripping,” he said. “It’s all done. It’s the past.”

Jennifer Hudson suggests Common is a ‘different’ person, weeks after breakup rumors

Nearly a month after fans began to suspect that Jennifer Hudson and Common had split, the talk show host confirmed that the couple is still together and apparently getting along well.

Ahead of the third season premiere of her original reality show, Hudson sat down with “Extra” reporter Terri Seymour for a girly chat about her plans for the show and opened up about her relationship with the “Used to Love Her” rapper.

During the conversation, Seymour asked Hudson about collaborating together with her husband of just about two years on a Christmas song for Hudson’s upcoming album.

Turning to the camera, Hudson addressed him by his middle name, Rashid. She said: “Phew! Okay Rashid and Common are two different people.”

Explaining further, she said, “Rashid is so lovely and sweet, but when you talk to the artist Common…”

Seymore chimed in and asked, “Is that something else?” Hudson continued, “Oh my God. It’s like, oooh, chile, where’s Rashid?” But I mean, he’s a musical genius. I call him the King of Words.”

Despite the headache Common appears to be causing Hudson together with his holiday song, the “Dreamgirls” star must feel it was value it. “It’s been so much fun venturing into the world of music together,” she said.

Hudson’s fans were thrilled to see her beam when talking about Common. One person said, “I love how she blushes when she talks about her man Common,” while one other wrote, “Congrats on Season 3! Two Chicago legends, JHud and Common, a match made in heaven!”

Romance rumors concerning the musical duo began circulating in 2022 once they were spotted getting closer after working together on the film “Breathe.” For nearly two years, the Chicago natives tried to avoid questions on their relationship status despite being spotted together multiple times.

Fans warned the 2 concerning the mistakes that artists who’ve never been married don’t make. Common has never proposed to any of his exes, Serena Williams, Erykah Badu, Taraji P. Hensonor Angela Rye.

Hudson, meanwhile, was in an eight-year relationship together with her ex-fiancé, the daddy of her teenage son, David Daniel Otunga Jr.

However, in 2024, Hudson and Common decided to place an end to all of the rumors and at last revealed on Hudson’s show that they were actually a couple.

Playing coy — without saying Hudson’s name — Common told her, “I’m in a relationship with one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met in my life. She’s smart, she loves God, she’s got a real down-to-earth quality to her. She’s talented.”

As he continued speaking, it became clear to Hudson’s listeners that Common was talking about her, as he mentioned that the person had an “EGOT” and “her own talk show.”

Following Common’s lead, Hudson isn’t naming any names, but she did confirm that she’s taken. She said, “I’m dating this brother and I’m very happy.”

Since the 2 have kept their relationship a secret, fans were a little concerned that they were now not seeing one another. Fears of a potential breakup grew after Common attended the Democratic National Convention without Hudson. This was alarming to fans because the event was held in town they’re each from and infrequently visit.

But what made it less likely that the 2 had split was Hudson’s post 13 days before the event: She posted a photo of Common, singer Paris PJ Jones, musician Keyon Harrold and herself posing together within the studio after apparently working on a song.

As for Hudson’s first holiday album, “The Gift of Love,” it’ll arrive well before Christmas, on October 18. The project is reportedly the primary latest song she’s released in 10 years, and her favorite from “Just Wright” is on the eleventh track.

“‘Almost Christmas’ is what Common called the song and created it for my Christmas album,” she told Seymour.

But not everyone found the moment entirely carefree.

“He doesn’t look good,” someone commented, while one other added: “Congratulations to him, but it breaks my heart to see him so weak.”

A 3rd fan simply noted: “Man, he’s getting old.”

However, some fans downplayed those concerns and saw the iconic character they’ve at all times known, with one commenter writing, “The Force is strong on this one,” and adding, “Congrats!”

Another said: “Protect this man at all costs.”

Despite concerns from online fans about his health, Disney CEO Bob Iger took the stage at the event to shower Ford with praise.

“Before he was the captain of the Millennium Falcon or a globetrotting archaeologist, Harrison Ford was, like many others, an aspiring actor who came to Hollywood to pursue his dreams,” Iger said to thunderous applause. According to to Variety. “He is the definition of a leading man who is unique in his own category.”

The crowd gave Ford a standing ovation as he graciously accepted the honor.

He responded with heartfelt gratitude, telling the audience, “I love you too. I love the life you’ve given me. I love the people I’ve had the opportunity to work with. Nobody does anything in this business for long. We work in partnership, no matter who we are or what we do.”

Looking ahead, Ford won’t reprise his role as Indiana Jones in the upcoming remake of the classic franchise.

After 42 years of playing Dr. Henry “Indiana” Jones, Ford has decided to step away. He wasn’t forced out of the series due to his age, as some thought. He was simply ready to move on and leave his role, Inside the Magic reports.

Lucasfilm/Disney continues to press ahead with plans to keep the franchise alive, and Ford fully supports his successor.

Interestingly, the studio retains the rights to Ford’s image and likeness, rights that are expected to play a significant role in the franchise’s future, similar to Disney’s use of technology for one more Lucasfilm legend, James Earl Jones.

Disney was able to recreate Jones’ voice for brand spanking new “Star Wars” projects using artificial intelligence, combined with old recordings of his voice to proceed the legacy of Darth Vader in productions like the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” Disney+ series.

While it is unclear whether Disney will employ methods similar to those utilized by Ford in utilizing his image and voice, the technology is available and his legacy will likely continue to exist in future projects.

For now, Ford is still working and keeping busy. He just wrapped a brand new project, Captain America: Brave New World, by which he plays Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, aka Red Hulk.

While fans may be concerned about Harrison Ford’s health, he shows no signs of slowing down as he continues to construct on his legendary profession.
