There’s at all times an exciting recent beauty trend on the horizon. This season, it’s all about “European summer makeup.” And who can resist the allure of European summer, now translated into makeup? The excitement is palpable. Luckily, makeup artist and ULTA Beauty Collective 2024 member, Little Ravenis here to guide us through this exciting beauty trend that has crossed the ocean and made its way into our hearts.
Don’t let the fear of a time-consuming routine stop you from trying out this European summer makeup trend. It’s all about adaptability and great skincare. As makeup artist Raven Small explains, it’s all about achieving fresh and radiant skin, a soft and barely-there complexion harking back to makeup without makeup. This trend reflects European fashion—chic, fresh, and minimalist. So even with a busy American schedule, you possibly can easily adapt this routine to fit in only ten minutes.
The real secret to achieving this look is within the products. This summer, we’re saying goodbye to full-coverage foundations and matte cosmetics and embracing our summer glow! “Start with an illuminating primer. Two products that will help you achieve this look are Supergoop glow screen Or Live Tinted Hueglow Liquid Drops,” says Small. She prefers these products because they naturally create a “glow from within.” However, before using the shades, Small recommends starting your routine with COVERGIRL velvet blur foundation to keep your hairstyle longer throughout the day.
Additionally, she recommends investing in blush, e.g. Hydromanic liquid blush by URBAN DECAY to add to the clean, moist look. If a clean pink is not your thing, try PAT McGRATH LABS Skin Fetish Divine Blush is a brand that focuses on blushes.. According to Smalls, these blushes are known for his or her sharp pigment. “Some of the shades have an iridescent effect, so you’re keeping up with the sparkle in the European summer makeup trend,” says Smalls.
You can skip the setting powders and go straight to the mascara. Remember, this look is supposed to look wet. A little bit of summer warmth will only add shine in the course of the day. Finally, complete this look with a brow gel. “The brows are quite light on this look, so take a superb clear eyebrow gel,” says Small. We also recommend keeping your brows natural if brow gel isn’t for you. At the tip of the day, European summer makeup is all about embracing your natural beauty with the smallest amount of effort.

Earlier this week, Model of the Year nominee Anok Yai appeared at the Fashion Awards gala at London’s Royal Albert Hall. And regardless that the night ended there controversial joke for this yr’s award, the look of her hair stood out, as did her skilled achievements.
Paired with an archival John Galliano gown from 1994, her hairstyle was as avant-garde as the supermodels of the day – and was the most groundbreaking look of the night. On the foundation, a pixie cut with micro-mushrooms framed her sculpted features, and the sides stopped just at the tip of her eyebrows.
However, the summit took an unexpected turn. Almost like a headdress, straight, long strands gathered at the top of the head, overlapping right into a bow. The look was romantic and evoked the essence of Mugler’s Alien Hypersense, of which it’s the face. “I carry a bottle in every purse, it’s an addiction” Yai said in front of the red carpet.
The iconic outfit was repeated by Rihanna, who two days later arrived in an identical style at the thirty eighth annual Footwear Awards Gala in New York. With slight moderation – longer, blunt bangs and full updo – hairdresser Nafia Biała used an identical technique. Could this be the hottest hair trend of the season? These two icons actually suggest that.
