LaLa Milan is preparing for a very powerful role of her profession to this point, motherhood, and despite the fact that it’s to this point away, she still cannot imagine it.

“I won’t lie, I’m still in shock,” he tells ESSENCE. “I look at my stomach and think, ‘This is crazy!'” And while her growing belly still amazes her, the best thing she feels is elation. LaLa is Mom to me.

“I feel amazing. I’m very excited,” she says. “I consult with all of the moms. I care in regards to the children. I’ve already been there.

“It’s a way to show people that I’m not hiding my love, I’m not hiding my lover or anything like that,” he says. “My site won’t necessarily become LaLa and Tyler P’s site, but at the same time my man is there, we’re a family and that’s a beautiful thing. During my maternity session, I wanted to show the healthy dynamics of the Black family.”

During a full of life conversation, we talked to Milan about her partner, how she discovered she was going to be a mother while coping with each the enjoyment and sadness of her father’s death, and why the fact of being a mother makes her life harder than ever. Here’s what considered one of our favourite funny women needed to say.

BEING: Congratulations mom! Tell us the way you discovered you were expecting?

I discovered because I take advantage of a period counter and in line with it my cycle was seven days late. Then my boyfriend was coming into town and I believed, “Let me take this test before he gets here so I know if I’ll potentially have to tell him something.” When I went and peed on that stick, my heart dropped, I didn’t even watch it. I said, “I’m going downstairs. When I come back, I’ll face my fate. Chile, fate awaited me.

Do you mind sharing details about who your partner is? Happy father.

His name is Tyler P. We’ve been together for a couple of 12 months and we’re taking turns. But in the case of attending to know one another, it’s an extended story. We talked, then stopped and got here back.

How did he react to this news?

He was shocked, I do not know why. We created magic [laughs].

Listen, I’ve tried contraception repeatedly. Every time I went to the obstetrician they’d the incorrect contraception. It happened 3 times! And when the whole lot was tremendous, they called and said, “We have your contraception ready.” I said, “I’m pregnant.” They were like, “Um, uh, uh…” I replied, “Okay. I’m excited and I’m sticking to it. Thank you all. But the crazy thing is the doctor’s office where I attempted to get contraception [in Los Angeles], she is a black woman. I ended up calling her later and asking her to refer me to a great prenatal care clinic since the one I went to first had a man who was passive. He could care less. He chased me out of the office. I heard loads in regards to the struggles of Black women that led me to think, oh no, I do not feel comfortable. I left. So she directed me to an office where all women of color work, and I’m very enthusiastic about that. All the doctors come and know easy methods to say my name! Everyone has natural hair. Girl, it is so beautiful.

Pretty! So you have been educating yourself on the Black maternal health crisis?

Absolutely girl. We will almost definitely die in childbirth and have problems too, so I needed to make certain I discovered a spot that cared about black women.

That’s right, girl. If you do not mind me bringing it up, we haven’t got to. I do know you lately lost your dad. They often say that in times of loss, latest life is born. With this in mind, how do you’re feeling and take care of these two strong emotions at the identical time: sadness and joy?

I’m glad you asked, because truthfully, once I discovered I used to be pregnant, I used to be very nervous. I do know that with life comes death. Or so the old story goes. I also knew my dad was an addict. He lived with me for eight months and once I moved him in, he was clean. Everything was OK. But my dad was very dependent, so his sobriety trusted me. Ultimately, this wasn’t helpful, so I told him we wanted to determine easy methods to offer you more independence.

I ended up sending him to Pittsburgh, where we were from, and I knew that when he got here back, he would return to what he knew. Four months later I discovered he had fentanyl in his system and that is why he died. When I got the decision from my uncle, in fact I cried, but at the identical time, with me planning the funeral and the whole lot, it was weird because I used to be so laid back. I cried once I discovered about it, but I didn’t cry in any respect throughout the whole process because I had already come to terms with what it was. Before I sent him away, I told him I loved him. I told him I wasn’t mad at him. “I don’t desire you to think I’m mad because I’m sending you home. I like you very much and I need you to have the ability to manage on your individual, but living with me you will not have the ability to do this because you are not making progress. My dad has been popping up since he was 16. I knew what his lifestyle entailed, so I believed, “The time has come.” It’s time. So I’ve come to terms with it and I’m glad he’s finally calmed down.

When I discovered I used to be pregnant and had lost my dad so near the time, I went through a combination of emotions. On one hand, I used to be very excited, but then again, I’m going through it. But he discovered I used to be pregnant, in order that was good. In my opinion, he gets to know my baby before I do.

That’s an attractive strategy to have a look at it. I do know that before pregnancy you were very focused on being lively and constructing muscle mass. Do you accept your child’s weight and changing body?

It’s all in my belly and breasts. Honestly, there is no weight gain anywhere else. I used to be hoping to achieve some extra weight so I could tone it up and that could possibly be my shortcut to having just a little more weight. Everyone says, “Wait until you have a baby.” Consider!? I’m having a baby and I’m not gaining weight [laughs]. But I accept the whole lot that comes with it. It’s great to look at my body change with my little tenant who doesn’t pay rent [laughs].

How was your pregnancy? Do you might have morning sickness or is the whole lot okay?

Everything was chilled. I had no problems. What I’m experiencing now is false insomnia. I get up in the course of the night, every night. Between 12 and three I’ll stand up for an hour, change and return to sleep. I’m like, what the hell is happening? I attempted to force myself to go to bed later. It doesn’t work. I keep waking up in the course of the night, every night, and just looking around.

Do they dig?

There are little flutters and such. One day after we were in Miami, I used to be eating turkey wings, they usually said, “Oh! Raise the roof!” I believed, oh, you want turkey wings and vegetables, don’t you!? They were very lively.

How would you say that pregnancy has inspired or modified you to this point?

It inspired me in some ways. I used to be already working hard before, but now it’s forcing me to work even harder just because there is a stereotypical stigma in my head that when I get pregnant [your career], you might be destroyed. So in my case, I actually have to defy the danger to make certain that does not occur. Sometimes people decelerate when a baby appears within the photo. I mean this for a reason. But it inspired me to try even harder. If that is all I want to maintain pushing, then so be it. Things have not necessarily modified yet, but I feel like what motivates us is amazing. I’m excited because I’m about to have a mom friend! People will invite me to kid’s events, so I’m enthusiastic about that because it would open latest doors. When people know that you simply are a mom and a parent, they usually tend to construct relationships with you because you might have something in common. Most of all, I can not wait to be a mother.

An attempt to save the image of Jeff Bezos’ future wife backfired after weeks of outrage and ridicule over her skimpy outfit

Lauren Sánchez has apparently gained a popularity for her fashion hits and misses as social media users began following her every move.

Billionaire Jeff Bezos’ current fiancée stepped into the highlight long before she met the Amazon co-founder, after years spent as co-host of “Good Day LA,” a reporter for “Extra” and host of “So You Think You Can Dance,” and he even starred in a number of movies like “Ted 2.”

She faced criticism for posting a sultry selfie in November in a negligee-inspired gown by designer Laura Basca. In October, the 54-year-old again faced backlash when she showed off her latex Halloween costume as Catwoman.

Now, weeks after being deemed “cheap” and tasteless, the founder of Black Ops Aviation has turn out to be a subject of discussion.

On December 5, Sánchez and the business mogul attended The New York Times’ DealBook event in New York City. For the occasion, she wore a white Alexander McQueen suit and a white lace corset. The beaming bride-to-be sent two mirror selfies of her outfit, which she signed: “winter white.”

One follower particularly was stunned by the whole look he ejaculated that she was “very attractive and beautiful, gorgeous and stunning, charming and fantastic young lady, sexy, charming, charming and elegant” in the photos that Sánchez took.

Two other people swooned over the photos and wrote: “So chic and elegant!” and “You look great.” But as you would possibly expect from online viewers, not everyone was impressed.

When Page six published paparazzi photos from the trip, the critic commented: “It’s 30 degrees in New York and she gets out of the limo in a white Miami smock, her bra visible to everyone. No taste. Nothing. A cashmere turtleneck, flannel trousers and a wool jacket can be classy.

Someone else sharply asked: “Who can be the first to tell her that she looks tacky and not elegant and refined? Does she even know what sophistication means? A 3rd person noted: “She looks more like she’s wearing a bathrobe.”

Another person wrote in a comment from a licensed pilot: “White means…” possibly referring to rumors that Sánchez and Bezos are scheduled to exchange vows over Christmas. At least one person doubted the couple would have the opportunity to say “I do.” This person said: “This will be the longest engagement ever. They will NEVER get married and we all know why!!!!”

Sánchez told the “Today” show hosts that she was in the process of planning the big day last month. She didn’t comment on speculation about exchanging Christmas vows.

Renewed interest and scrutiny of Sánchez has increased as the pair have been spotted in various locations in recent months. The couple reportedly began dating in 2018. Their engagement was announced five years later, in May 2023. Their upcoming wedding can be a second journey for each of them.

Sánchez was previously married to celebrity agent Patric Whitesell, with whom she has two children. She can be the mother of a son, whom she shares with Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez. Bezos was married to the mother of his three children, Mackenzie Scott, for 25 years once they divorced in 2019.

Apart from the song with singer-songwriter India Shawn – Andscape

Published

By

India Shawn is a contemporary muse with a chilled nature, crafting love stories and heartfelt tales in smooth, charming songs. With over a decade of experience in the music industry as a singer-songwriter, Shawn has incredible strength. She was born in Los Angeles, and her musical roots reach throughout the country. Beginning her profession in her hometown, Shawn eventually found herself in Atlanta, where she immersed herself in the city’s deep-rooted R&B scene, further shaping her artistry.

“I transferred to ATL, I was in 10th grade, and that’s when my music journey really started,” Shawn told Andscape. “I met people who were trying to get by, so I ended up recording and learned what songwriting was really early on.”

Before releasing her debut EP in 2012, Shawn wrote songs and collaborated with artists similar to Chris Brown, El DeBarge, Keri Hilson and Monica. In 2013, she gained much more notoriety when Solange Knowles published her song “I’m Alive” on the Saint Heron compilationmarking her as an artist value watching.

Following the release of the single “There Must Be a God” from the Andscape soundtrack, she caught up with Shawn to learn more about the muse behind the vibes.

Singer India Shawn grew up singing in church with her family. “I feel like most of us R&B kids have that experience,” she said.

Airy, soft, telling a story, multidimensional, soft, mysterious, atmospheric

The oldest musical memory

Shawn’s soulful sound is deeply rooted in her upbringing, with influences drawn from her childhood memories and the musical culture of her church. “I sing with my sister all the time, and I also grew up singing behind my mom in church. She was the leader of praise and worship. So I feel like most of us R&B kids have that experience,” Shawn said. “I had these little solos in church, and I believe what made me consider in it was that after the service people got here as much as me with tears of their eyes and said, ‘You really moved me while you sang.’ “These early moments of connection with music and audiences laid the foundation for conveying depth and sensitivity through her music.

Influences

For Shawn, music, especially R&B, has all the time held a special place in her life. “Me and my sister are harmonizing in the living room, just picking some of our favorite songs, including for me Mariah Carey, Babyface, Boyz II Men and (and) Brandy,” she said of her early music memories.

Creative process

Shawn often draws inspiration from real-life experiences and relationships that influence her music. She weaves this into the authenticity and atmosphere of her songs, but she didn’t immediately recognize where her inspiration got here from. “It’s funny that it took me so long to make that connection, but I realized that I was telling my whole story and presenting my business through my music,” she said. “It took me two albums to realize, wait a minute, I’m giving people a lot to understand here… these aren’t just songs. This is truly the life I live.”

Challenges and development

As Shawn’s profession grows, so do his moments of appreciation and reflection. “I literally just thought about a very gradual progression of my career. It’s like step by step, but there are more breakthrough moments. My first tour, which was so beautiful, I just knew I could pack a room and people knew my lyrics and sang my songs to me. Those moments that make the waiting not in vain.”

Shawn has plenty of recommendation for up-and-coming singer-songwriters. Her biggest sacrifice? Collaboration is essential. “I think (cooperation) is really why I’m still here. So find your people… you’ll know when it feels right, you’ll have that freedom and fluidity, and you’ll be able to really create things and create without having to think too much.” He also shares the importance of patience. “Just be patient during the journey. This has been a theme throughout my profession. Let it develop. I feel like more things come from being in that flow and being present reasonably than forcing all of it.

Current project

There should be a God”, the lead single from Andscape , now streaming on Hulu, also serves as a teaser for Shawn’s solo album. “(This song) is such a manifestation of God’s love,” she said. “I think when you find yourself in a place of waiting, you can feel very hopeless. So when you see glimpses of God’s love again, or the fact that you know there is a higher power, there is a source that is thinking about you, has you in mind, has a perfect plan for you, it’s just like the clouds parting. And this is the moment, I understand. I understand that I had to go through all this to get here. And that’s exactly what I felt in the studio that day.”

Sheila Matthews is a digital producer at Andscape and a proud HBCU graduate. She believes “Return of the Mack” must have won a Grammy, and her Twitter mentions are open to all debate.
