Former Disney star Skai Jackson confirms her pregnancy

Many people watched actress Skai Jackson grow up as a forged member of the Disney family comedy “Jessie.” Now she is an adult and preparing to change into a mother. This week, the previous Disney star confirmed it People Magazine that she is expecting her first child with her boyfriend.

“I’m excited to start a new chapter in my life,” she told the publication. “Embracing motherhood and diving into new acting projects. My heart is full!”

While the 22-year-old star is preparing for motherhood for the primary time, she’s also gearing up for her role in the brand new feature film “The Man in the White Van,” which is able to premiere later this yr. For Jackson, the brand new thriller-horror project allows her to explore a brand new side of acting.

“Growing up, I used to be never a Disney girl who watched Disney movies. I watched Chucky and Freddy Krueger, so I really like all types of horror,” she said: on Collider. “When this audition came, I thought, ‘Oh my God, I just have to!’ It was really nice to work on it, gain new experiences and tell the story. I’m definitely proud of the film.”

Now, as Jackson prepares to be a mom, she reflects on the support and lessons her mother, Kiya Cole, gave her growing up.

“(My mother) always taught me to stand up for myself, stand up for what I believe in and fight for what’s right,” she explained. “I thank her for that because without her I probably wouldn’t have the confidence I have now.”
