Giannis Antetokounmpo Explains How He Wears His Halloween Costume at Post-Game Press Conference: ‘First and foremost, I’m a father’

Giannis Antetokounmpo is within the Halloween spirit. After losing to the Chicago Bulls on October 25, the Milwaukee Bucks player decided to attend the post-game press conference wearing a Mr. costume. Potato Head. Although many have seen him outfit as comicalAntetokounmpo explained that the costume represents greater than just Halloween.

“I chose this costume because first and foremost I am a father,” he explained. “I even have three children. I even have to go entertain my children.

According to reports, the Mr. Potato Head costume was a part of Antetokounmpo’s family costume for 2024. The basketball player, his wife Mariah Riddlesprigger and their three children – 4-year-old Liam, 3-year-old Maverick and 13-month-old daughter Eva – wearing outfits inspired by ” Toy Story.”

In addition to his commitment to his children, the NBA star admitted that his wife Riddlesprigger also contributed to the choice to wear the costume to the press conference. When asked about his outfit of the day, Antetokounmpo jokingly explained that once you’re married, “you don’t have a say.”

“When the day starts, you’ve a schedule. This is what you will do today,” he added. “You will go to training, come back and have contact with the children. Then you are taking a nap and we have now a costume ready for you.

Despite his status as an NBA player, the daddy of three explained that his wife encouraged him to wear the outfit. “Win or lose, you’re going to wear this costume because at the end of the day you’re a father and then you’re a basketball player.”

However, Halloween costumes have gotten an athlete’s tradition. Just last 12 monthsduring one other press conference, the NBA star was spotted wearing an “Incredible Hulk” costume.
