Alfonso Ribeiro, now in his third season as co-host of “Dancing with the Stars” after winning the competition in 2014, understands the “shock in the ballroom” after a contestant’s shocking remarks while leaving the dance competition.

Anna Delvey, a convicted felon who served her prison sentence, was announced as considered one of the contestants for season 33. However, public opinion was not swayed in her favor as some in the audience felt it was not appropriate to reward the 33-year-old. old because she became infamous for scamming wealthy people in New York.

After being eliminated from Episode 2, which aired on September 24, Delvey was asked what she would take away from the competition, to which she truthfully and quickly replied with a smile, “Nothing.”

The response didn’t go down well with individuals who thought Delvey was ungrateful. On September 25, Ribeiro sat down with “The Talk” co-hosts, which included former “DWTS” contestant Amanda Kloots, they usually offered their very own version of the commentary.

He said it wasn’t a response he would have ever expected in the show’s history, and even joked, “She was clearly a trendsetter,” which drew laughter from viewers.

The veteran TV host then showed sympathy for Delvey, saying, “It’s really hard in a situation like that because someone says, ‘Goodbye, you stink, you are not ok, we don’t desire you here.’ And ultimately you may have to respond to it, and he or she has been trashed on social media all this time. So it was an honest answer to the query: “What will I get out of this pain, pain and suffering?”

“The only person who was really there for her was Ezra, who is a first-time professional, so he never got over it,” Ribeiro continued, referring to Delvey’s dance partner, Ezra Sosa, a trained dancer who appeared around 20 “ DWTS Episodes. “He doesn’t know how to deal with it, but that answer caused a big shock in the ballroom.”

He then complimented her on her dancing skills, stating that Delvey “has everything it takes to dance. You just have to show us you want it.” She believes she was “stuck in her head”, which prevented Delvey from demonstrating why she appeared on the show.

“She had all the tools to make it occur, but she just couldn’t overcome her own insecurities, security, or the blocks all of us created to protect our emotions. She didn’t let anyone through,” Ribeiro added.

Kloots added mentally and expressed less sympathy for Delvey’s elimination. She first said she would advise Delvey to ignore social media and “turn off” her comments.

“But this experience, as you know, is life-changing,” she said, turning to Ribeiro. “It modified my life, it healed me in a way that I never expected and he or she was able to experience it and he or she got there and I understand it was probably only, , possibly three weeks, so per week with a partner before possibly even longer. Ezra is an incredible dancer, an incredible friend, an incredible dance partner and I can only imagine what he gave her in the weeks they worked together. I feel it is a disgrace that she said she had nothing. Really.

Ribiero agreed with Kloots, saying: “I can’t disagree because we know the experience. This experience is life changing. I mean, my life has changed so much since that experience on that show. It means that thanks to this performance my career came back. I owe everything to this program.”

But the former “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star also identified that it’s hard to be eliminated first, but Kloots didn’t let that be an excuse for Delvey.

She said, “You’re the first, you’re right, but stay grateful.”

A 3rd person suggested that Delvey was joking about her past with his response. They said, “Maybe she meant she wasn’t going to steal anything, lol.”

Delvey was arrested in 2017 and convicted in 2019 on multiple counts of theft and theft for defrauding banks, hotels and wealthy New Yorkers of $275,000. Was originally sentenced to 12 years in prison but he only gave 4.

The night she left the show, a double elimination took place and Tori Spelling was also eliminated.
