I used to be first introduced to Classic Veuve Clicquot polo shirt an event from watching an episode of a preferred Bravo TV reality show a few years ago (where the event was highlighted), a show about black women working in New York, mainly in media, who have the desire to make it in the big city. I used to be inspired by the sea of fancy hats, elegant glasses of champagne and lovely horses and handsome jockeys on them. This event has at all times had an air of fabulousness, tradition and majesty, and from the first time I saw it on TV, I knew I at all times desired to be an element of it.

While the legendary event took place at Liberty State Park in New Jersey, it has now expanded to the West Coast, specifically to Los Angeles at Will Rogers State Historic Park, where a brand new daytime soiree was held on the first Saturday in October. I used to be invited as a really special guest, which meant I wearing my Sunday best, which included a vintage powder hat, patchwork Moschino dress, and clogs.

This 12 months, the renowned Champagne House presented a specific offer of tickets, recent cuvées and personalized attractions for an limitless summer that combined the sport of polo with the effortless art of living Solaire Veuve Clicquot. As a first-time attendee, it was such a pleasure for me to interact with tastemakers and a few of our favourite black stars including Quinta Brunson, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Jurnee Smollett, Danai Gurira and more who gathered to enjoy It’s a day of sun, sport and celebration.

For the occasion, Veuve Clicquot transformed Will Rogers State Historic Park into its premier VIP Sun Club, surrounding us with an environment stuffed with vibrant decor, joy and the best champagne as we enjoyed limitless amounts of Veuve Clicquot Rich, Rosé and Brut (which I needed to learn pronounce accurately). As my girlfriend and I made our strategy to the VIP-only Sun Club, after taking photos around the facility, to not be confused with the picnic lawn that sits across from where the polo match was being held, we watched the national anthem being performed Erin Palmer Ramirez, followed by a ceremonial toss by Danai Gurira. After just a few glasses of Brut, we enjoyed a fast match while watching the Veuve Clicquot team, captained by renowned polo player Nacho Figueras.

The event also featured refined culinary dishes curated by Smorgasburg and Jean Imbert, with my favorites being the beef filet and corn donuts. We finally got to a break during the polo match where we needed to drive the yard divots into the ground as this reduces the risk of falls and injuries while playing and allows the ball to fly further which was great fun. It was also a social occasion, with celebrities and decision-makers arriving on either side of the pitch to greet friends and take photos.

My girlfriend and I spent the day in the Los Angeles sun, watching polo and drinking the best champagne. I stay up for participating next 12 months!
