Jayson Tatum to Release New Jordan Branded Shoe — Andscape

How do you have fun winning an NBA championship after which a gold medal? If you are Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, you are kicking off one other version of your signature shoe.

The Jordan Tatum 3 is the most recent collaboration between Jordan Brand and the NBA champion. Tatum’s son’s name, “Deuce,” is displayed on the inside the shoe’s tongue, while the number zero is displayed on the heel. The colorway, dubbed “Welcome to the Garden,” includes a floral pattern wrapped across the shoe in a shade of green familiar to Boston Celtics fans. The name is a nod to each the player who calls the TD Boston Garden home and Tatum’s love of indoor gardening.

The man who has proven to be the most effective players on this planet averaged 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists on 47.1 percent shooting from the sphere last season en route to his first NBA championship.

“I don’t take having my signature shoe for granted,” Tatum said. “I’m grateful to be able to co-create with Jordan Brand and have fans connect with me through my shoes. My favorite part about the 3s is the way they embrace color, so I hope we can inspire and energize a lot of people by telling stories about color.”

Tatum worked with Nike Research Lab to create a supportive athletic shoe designed for play on the hardwood or asphalt that’s lightweight and designed for lateral movement. The Jordan Tatum 3 features layered, engineered mesh materials on the upper to stabilize the foot while allowing movement. The midsole uses Cushlon 3.0 foam with a Zoom Air unit, and the outsole includes a herringbone traction pattern.

Several other colorways are set to arrive after the initial launch. Pastel swirls adorn the “Sidewalk Chalk” version. Greys cover the upper of the “Zen” pair. The “No Days Off” colorway includes a light green mixed with white.

Exclusive “Welcome to the Garden” Tatum 3 and accompanying Air Jordan 1 Low to release as a set for $300 at Boston retailer CNCPTS October 5. The global release can be October 10 for $125, available online and at select retailers.

The exclusive CNCPTS offering includes the Tatum 3 and Air Jordan 1 Low in a special “Welcome to the Garden” colorway, packaged in a double box.
