Angela Simmons and her boyfriend, Yo Gotti, attended the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at New York City’s UBS Arena on September 11. The couple has been together for nearly two years, and fans can take a look at their lovely vacation photos and videos online.

However, footage of the couple’s red carpet entrance sparked a totally different kind of dialogue online.

For the annual awards show, the Angela’s Cakes founder wore a red latex dress with a cross round her neck and matching red heels. The “Walking In Memphis” rapper wore a loose gray suit with white sneakers and a big chain around his neck.

Fashion Bomb Daily posted on Instagram about Angela and Yo Gotti’s arrival at the VMAs, and social media users focused on Simmons’ feet.

“Angela’s feet hurt A LOT,” a commenter wrote in the comments section, with one other adding, “Really, really bad!”

Others also questioned the 36-year-old Pastry Shoes founder’s behavior at the VMAs. For example, one Instagrammer wrote, “Poor Angela. So awkward but so pretty.”

Another person asked: “Why is Angela acting like this is her first rug?”

When Angela and Gotti showed up as a pair at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, fans took notice of their awkward body language and have been paying more attention to them ever since.

In response to the criticism, one person added: “People always have something negative to say about her so it probably messes with her head.”

In contrast, Simmons received praise for her look, with two other people saying, “Angela wears that red dress” and “Angela looks GOOD! That’s her look.”

Fans have been following Angela Simmons and Yo Gotti’s relationship for nearly a decade. In 2015, the rapper first publicly declared his interest in Simmons in his single “Down in the DM.”

“And I just followed Angela. Man, I had a crush on Angela Simmons. They say, ‘Goddamn Gotti, you daredevil.’ Fuck it, I’ll let the world know,” Yo Gotti raps in the quadruple-platinum song.

The lyrics of “Down in the DM” sparked speculation that the Memphis-born recording artist would eventually end things with Simmons. Gotti even sent her flowers in January 2016.

Angela later said Boss“They were really pretty flowers. I’m honored. He’s really nice, it’s amazing.”

“I told Gotti thanks for the honor, I was very honored,” she continued. “He came to my faux fur show and sent flowers there, which was very nice of him.”

However, Yo Gotti was unable to pursue a romantic relationship with Angela Simmons at the time. In April 2016, she announced her engagement to Sutton Tennyson.

Angela Simmons gave birth to Sutton Tennyson’s son, Sutton Joseph Tennyson, on September 22, 2016. The “Growing Up Hip Hop” reality star announced the end of their engagement the following yr.

In 2018, Sutton Tennyson was killed outside his home in Atlanta. Michael Williams was lifer for Tennyson’s murder and 15 years for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Between 2018 and 2020, Angela Simmons was reportedly seen dating other men, including NBA player Serge Ibaka, NFL player Khalil Mack, music producer London On Da Track, and boxer Daniel Jacobs.

Yo Gotti has finally made Angela Simmons his girlfriend. The daughter of legendary rapper Joseph “Reverend Run” Simmons made their relationship Instagram official in December 2022. Her caption read, “You’re everything I need and more.”

They first appeared in public at the Memphis Grizzlies game against the Cleveland Cavaliers in January 2023. After that meeting on the NBA court, a source said TMZ that the situation between the two stars is “exceptionally good.”

In addition to walking the red carpet with Simmons at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, Gotti also got to see his Collective Music Group partner GloRilla perform,Sure, Glo!” and “TGIF” at the ceremony.
