Tyrese Arrested for Unpaid Child Support, Ordered to Pay $73K to Avoid Prison

Tyrese Gibson recently had a run-in with the law over unpaid child support. The singer has been very open about his determination to fight his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, She fought fiercely for alimony.

The arrest got here in Fulton County Court on Monday morning, when Judge Kevin Farmer found Tyrese guilty of contempt of court for failing to pay the $10,000 monthly he was ordered to begin paying Lee for their daughter Soraya in April 2023. That said, while Tyrese hasn’t paid the $10,000 monthly, he has been paying Lee about $2,200 monthly since last 12 months.

Judge Farmer said the singer could avoid prison time if she paid $73,500, including $7,500 for Lee’s attorney fees.

Gibson likely wasn’t surprised by his arrest, considering he teased it over the weekend via a social media video. “I could be arrested at a courthouse at 9am in Atlanta,” Gibson wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post.

“WE ARE APPEALING (sic) ALL OF HIS RULINGS AND HAVE ALREADY TRIED TO DISMISS THIS JUDGE FROM THE COURT TWICE,” he wrote Sunday. “The second time we tried to have him removed from the bench. He himself denied his request to be removed from the bench… can you imagine that???”

He continued: “It’s pretty clear they hate me, but I have to remind them and everything about my life and my success. I’ve been working my ass off since I was 14 to get here,” he added.#FamilyLawCourts “THEY ARE THE WORST TOWARDS FATHERS.”

The actor believes the judge will seek retaliation because he has filed appeals to have Farmer faraway from the case. He wants the judge removed since the singer claims to be good friends with Lee’s lawyers.

On Tuesday, September 10, he shared a video on his Instagram Storieswriting: “Getting arrested wasn’t easy… It was actually very traumatic… You might ask, why does this judge… and my ex Samantha… HATE ME SO MUCH?”

The former lovers have been locked in an ongoing legal battle for a while now, despite divorcing in 2020 after three years of marriage. In addition to Soraya, Gibson also has a teenage daughter named Shayla together with his ex-wife Norma Mitchell.
