John Legend Leaves Wife Chrissy Teigen Shocked After Sharing New Video With Their Daughter
Chrissy Teigen is fed up together with her husband John Legend and his social media shenanigans.
The “Ordinary People” singer took part in a brand new social media trend with considered one of her 4 children, by which users act out a selected scene — which can be described in the outline below the video — before turning to look directly on the camera.
The trend is predicated on the song “Toxic” by Canadian artist Realest K and involves people typically waiting for the music to drop before they step out of character, turn their head, and take a look at the camera with a serious expression.
Legend enlisted his daughter, Esti Maxine Stephens, to look within the September 4 clip. In the video, he may be seen picking up his daughter and kissing her on the cheek while the lyrics, “Baby, I don’t know why they’re silent,” play within the background. The beat then drops as Realest K sings “Your love is toxic,” with Legend looking into the camera with a rather mocking expression.
As with other videos on this trend, there was a brief description explaining the scenario Legend was playing out. It reads: “I recorded an entire album for my little girl so she wouldn’t be impressed by your son playing a G chord on the guitar.”
The “All of Me” singer added within the caption: “Dad mode activated.”
“HAAA! That made me laugh! Yes! Let them know!” one fan wrote within the comments section.
Although the video has racked up over 1.6 million likes, Chrissy Teigen, Legend’s wife of 10 years, wasn’t so easily impressed.
The model responded within the comments section, “you really created this trend oh my god. I’m leaving. You can have custody.”
One one that caught her sarcasm wrote, “Hahahaha you’re amazing!! Such a cool wife and mom.”
Teigen is understood for her quick, witty, and sometimes daring quips. It seems that that is somewhat of a love language for the couple, especially since this is not the primary time she’s jokingly threatened to depart her husband.
Just two weeks ago, the 12-time Grammy Award winner was invited to perform on the Democratic National Convention to support Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris. The legend was joined by renowned drummer and percussionist Sheila E. as they performed “Let’s Go Crazy” from Prince’s 1984 album Purple Rain.
Before taking the stage, Teigen texted Legend that she only wanted the daddy of her children to do one thing. She shared on her Instagram Story, “I told John if he truly loves his family he needs to tug on his ear when he performs at the DNC. And if he doesn’t, I’m out.”
Teigen apparently watched the performance to see if her husband remembered making the gesture, but apparently he didn’t. So Teigen added more posts to her IG story, including a screenshot of a message to Legend by which she wrote, “Not one ear was pulled,” to which he replied, “Oh my god. I’m completely out of my mind.”
She wrote back, “You did it!! But you did a good job. Too bad it won’t make a difference for our kids.”
Legend and Teigen will have fun their eleventh wedding anniversary on September 14. They have two daughters and two sons, considered one of whom was born via surrogacy. In 2020, they sadly lost a baby mid-pregnancy as a consequence of complications.
