Martin Lawrence’s latest comedy special has fans worried after he ‘talks slowly’ on stage

Comedian Martin Lawrence is setting the record straight after rumors about his health surfaced earlier this 12 months. During his Aug. 30 stop in Detroit on his Y’all Know What It Is! tour, Lawrence addressed speculation that he had suffered a stroke.

The entertainer, who has been selling out shows, coping with critics within the audience and reminding people why many consider him probably the greatest comedians of his generation, took a moment during his set to debunk the rumors.

Fans captured video of the show from a distance in a single section, where he might be seen walking out into the group and joking in regards to the speculation.

“Motherfuckers talking about me, s—t. They saying I had a stroke, s—t,” he told the group, before jokingly proving them mistaken.

“Does this look like a mother who had a stroke?” Lawrence joked as he leapt across the stage, even throwing in a little bit dancing for good measure.

“I pet. That’s what I do,” he added, referring to the Clarence Carter classic.

“Then they say I talk slow and I’m lethargic and all that,” Lawrence continued, “I’m probably high.”

Despite his cheerful approach, some fans were still concerned.

Another person he tweeted“I don’t want to seem weak. I don’t even sound like myself.”

Others expressed similar feelings, noting that he spoke slowly.
