Theophilio designer and founder Edvin Thompson decided to tug out of the runway show last season, which meant a 3-season hiatus from the runway show. Many don’t know that producing a successful runway show often costs hundreds of dollars. In reality, a runway show is primarily a business event, not only for the press. When runway shows were just starting out, only buyers and top editors were invited. Wholesalers and shops were the primary people to impress.

That’s modified dramatically now, as influencers, high-net-price individuals and celebrities have front-row seats to the show. These big-screen productions, and even smaller ones, cost smaller brands more in the future. Good press is at all times great, but as Thompson said, it doesn’t pay the bills. Now he’s back and higher with a brand new collection concept titled “SHAUNIE,” a nod to his childhood nickname, which he also referenced in his Warby Parker collaboration earlier this 12 months. He draws inspiration from his culture and observations of New York.

Below, you will find information on how Edvin Thompson takes care of himself and unwinds before the stress of New York Fashion Week gets to him.
