Trina Braxton Says Von Scales’ Husband ‘Punished’ Her for Grieving Over Ex

Things got a bit off-topic during Trina Braxton and her husband, Von Scales,’s discussion on the most recent episode of their post-show podcast. While the pair chatted in regards to the latest episode of “Braxton Clips and CocktailsTrina mentioned that she felt Von punished her for mourning her ex-husband, Gabe Solis, who died of cancer in 2018 on the age of 43.

Scales didn’t deny Braxton’s accusations and confirmed that he did indeed have an issue with the lady grieving the lack of her ex-husband.

“It was absolutely true. I was angry,” Scales said.

He continued. “If you would like my honest opinion, I do not see much difference between the way you grieved He’s losing and Gabe; it looked the identical to me.”

Scales stressed that he was unhappy with the best way Trina, 49, was mourning Solis, who helped her raise her two children from a previous relationship, Eric and Caleb Mojica.

“To me, the sadness seemed too strong for someone you had so many problems with,” Scales later added. “It seemed like you still had really strong feelings for this guy, which made me think, ‘What am I doing here?’ I didn’t like any part of it.”

Solis and Braxton were married for 12 years before splitting. They eventually became best friends, with Scales calling their relationship dynamic “a unique paradigm.”

“I’ve never seen two people who were married, have a terrible divorce, and then become best friends. That was something new to me. That’s all I said. And I still haven’t seen that,” he said.

Scales also stressed that he doesn’t envy Trina’s ex, claiming that he gave her medical advice after Solis was diagnosed with cancer.

Fans weren’t thrilled along with his comments about how his wife was mourning her ex and saw it as a red flag. They consider that Braxton has the fitting to mourn his ex, with whom he shares 12 years of history and has a toddler.

Scales and Braxton met through a mutual friend and got engaged in 2019, shortly after Solis’ death. At the time, Trina was excited in regards to the engagement but additionally mourning her ex-husband.

“It was a really tough time,” she admits. “My sons had a really tough time too, but you know, thank God for my fiancé now. Hey, Von! You know, he really helped me, he stood right there for me, and I knew it was tough for him at times, you know, especially looking at me as his fiancée, but grieving for someone else,” Trina said in 2019.

“He knew it was just friendship,” she continued. “But I’m sure it was very difficult for him to watch and hold me at night while I cried over someone else. But he knew where that place was, where my heart was, and I just thank God for him.”
