In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) have unveiled SirDavis, a brand new interpretation of American whiskey.

Finished, blended and bottled in Texas, the award-winning spirit pays homage to the Grammy-winning singer’s great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, and her Southern heritage. At its core, SirDavis is a rare American offering of 51% rye and 49% malted barley, combining the strong and deep flavors of classic American rye with textures inspired by Japan and Scotland. “I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when I drink a high-quality whiskey, and I wanted to invite more people to experience that feeling,” said Knowles-Carter, founding father of SirDavis, in a press release. “By working with Moët Hennessy, we’ve created a delicious American whiskey that honors tradition but also allows people to experience something new and unique in the category.”

Moët Hennessy has chosen Master Distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden to oversee the creation of SirDavis, which honors the legacy of the native Texan’s great-grandfather, who was known for hiding bottles of whiskey in cedar trees for family and friends during his years as a farmer and moonshiner within the Prohibition-era South. SirDavis challenges category norms within the whiskey space, according to Lumsden. “The exceptional selection of grains and the extraordinary secondary maturation in sherry casks helped us achieve a signature profile that is completely unique to SirDavis, one of bold sophistication,” the award-winning distiller said. Knowles-Carter had a hand in creating the tall, luxurious bottle, which features ribbed glass and a black medallion with a regal brown horse that pays homage to the singer’s Texas roots.

The partnership is a testament to Knowles-Carter’s passion for Japanese whisky and Moët Hennessy’s mission to expand into the U.S. market. LVMH Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault said the collaboration between the Grammy-winning artist and the world’s leading luxury goods company is “a testament to an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship, heritage and innovation.”

The “Texas Hold ‘Em” artist shared the news of SirDavis’ arrival on August 20 in a series of Instagram photos wherein he poses in a white lace outfit.

Prior to launch, SirDavis received Best In Class for American Whiskey on the 2023 SIP Awards, a Gold Medal on the 2023 New York International Spirits Competition and a rating of 93 points on the 2023 Ultimate Spirits Challenge.

SirDavis is predicated in Houston, Texas. The recent whiskey is on the market for pre-order on the SirDavis website for $89. The product will debut in September 2024 in stores and at select airports within the US (LAX/JFK/SFO) and at retailers in London, Paris and Tokyo.
