Colorado CEO who picked up 15-year-old and threw him like a rag doll after the teen accidentally poured water on his wife has been charged with assault
The CEO of a private investment firm in Colorado has been charged with assault after he was caught on camera brutally attacking a 15-year-old boy and throwing him to the floor at an In-N-Out Burger for accidentally pouring water on his wife, police said.
Lucas Kalisher, 55, CEO of Summit Source Funding, was at a Loveland restaurant on Aug. 4 when a teenager who was playing around in the restaurant’s dining room accidentally splashed a woman with water, sending his friends into a tailgate.
The teenager approached the table to apologize when suddenly a man the size of a skilled wrestler stood up and grabbed him.
The footage shows the large man ordering the frightened boy to “apologise” before putting him in a chokehold and throwing him onto the tiled floor like a rag doll.
“You don’t treat a woman that way,” Kalisher admonished the teenager as he stood over him.
The boy’s friends quietly moved away from the man, not wanting to be next in line to face his wrath.
Witnesses were also stunned, with one person calling the man a “child harasser.”
Before his identity was revealed, footage of the shocking confrontation went viral online, with many wanting to discover the attacker. Among them was the father of one other teen in the video, who was outraged that his son’s friend was “attacked by a grown man.”
The suspect and his wife left the restaurant on Fall River Drive before police arrived, but witnesses identified the attacker as Kalisher and a warrant was issued for his arrest on August 13.
After deleting his social media accounts, Kalisher surrendered that very same night at 10:33 p.m.
He was charged with second-degree assault with strangulation and one misdemeanor count of kid abuse.
Kalisher remained in jail, awaiting his first hearing.
It is unclear whether he has a history of violence.
Summit Source Funding’s LinkedIn profile lists Kalisher’s employer as a private equity firm that creates and funds ventures in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on helium production. The company, based in Boulder, Colorado, has just a handful of employees.
Kalisher bought a four-bedroom home in June for $1.75 million in rural Loveland, about an hour’s drive north of Denver, based on a listing on Zillow. The home had ample pastures and shelter for livestock and equipment.
