Fans online got a glimpse of their love in a remastered clip from the “Equalizer” star’s interview on the American Black Film Festival on June 15.

IN clip while he talked about his children, Washington gave his wife credit for the youngsters’ involvement and interest in filming. Interviewer Chaz Ebert revealed that each one 4 of Washington’s children have been in front of and/or behind the screen sooner or later of their careers. Most assume this is because Washington is essentially the most recognizable in his family.

But without hesitation, the Great Debaters star said the youngsters “all got it from their mom. Didn’t any of them get it from me?” The audience applauded as he continued, saying, “Pauletta, as long as I’ve known her, you know, she’s been a movie buff, so she got these kids watching movies.”

While talking about his wife of 41 years, the Oscar winner reaches into his pocket to drag out his phone and starts scrolling. He reveals that he had intended to call Pauletta and even predicted that “she’d be mad” when she discovered he called her in the midst of the interview.

A second later, Washington says to his wife, who’s currently on a video call, “You know I’m going to be on the call, right?” while kicking his legs within the air and bursting into laughter as Pauletta presumably answers the phone.

The entire crowd starts laughing, and the “Mo’ Better Blues” star tells them that the very first thing Pauletta did was roll her eyes and switch her head away. “Like a black woman,” he said.

Washington then turns his phone towards the group so the audience can see Pauletta and show her some love. Pauletta stands in shock with her hand on her head and her mouth open, smiling.

When he turns the phone to himself, she says, “Tomorrow is Father’s Day, so forget about the gift,” which shocks Washington. He later asks Pauletta, “So I’m not getting any cake, nothing?” to which she replies in a joking but threatening tone, “I’ll get you cake, sure.”

The clips drew positive comments from fans praising the couple’s relationship. One person said: “You can tell he REALLY loves this woman,” while one other wrote: “I was smiling so hard my cheeks almost fell off.” A 3rd joked: “Denzel is still smitten.”

The fourth said, “He’s not playing with her.”

Washington and Pauletta met in 1977 on the set of the film Wilma, by which they each starred. They had two sons and two daughters.

Their older son John David Washington, who played football at Morehouse College and signed with the then St. Louis Rams, is now an actor with leading roles in movies akin to “Tenet” and Spike Lee’s “BlaKKKlansman” under his belt.

Next up is Katia Washington, the couple’s oldest daughter. She opted to remain behind the camera, working on “Django Unchained” and her father’s movies “The Equalizer” and “Fences.” Their younger son, Malcolm Washington, was also recruited by Lee to work as an assistant on the series “She’s Gotta Have It.”

Finally, Malcolm’s twin sister, Olivia, followed in her father and brother John’s footsteps by appearing in front of the camera. She has had roles in a few of Lee Daniels’ projects, akin to “The Butler” and “Empire.” Olivia also starred in her father’s movies “The Little Things” and “The Tragedy of Macbeth.”
