If You Have Used CashApp Since 2018, You May Be Eligible for a $2,500 Cashout – Essence

The P2P payments app and its parent company Block Inc. have been named in a class motion lawsuit that alleges each parties “were negligent and breached other duties to users” in 2022 when a former worker accessed account information without permission. The case ended with a $15 million settlement for Block Inc. after the corporate faced multiple allegations of information breaches.
KTLA reports that Block Inc. said in a 2022 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it will share data on about 8.2 million current and former users.

If the above criteria are met, claimants may receive as much as $2,500 “for losses incurred directly by the insurer.”
However, the settlement states that with a purpose to move forward, it should need “third-party documentation” illustrating a “data security incident, unauthorized account event, or failure to resolve an error” on a Cash App or Cash App Investing account.
The website says claimants can even seek reimbursement for lost time — on this case, the limit is $25 per hour for three hours, for a total of $75 — and for documented transaction losses attributable to an “unauthorized account event.”
Claims could also be filed until November 18, 2024 on the settlement office. website.
