Ben Stiller’s wish to become a black man backfires after ‘Zoolander’ actor sparks outrage over ‘pathetic’ remark

“There’s Something About Mary” star Ben Stiller raised some eyebrows along with his remarks during a three-hour live broadcast geared toward supporting Vice President Kamala Harris’ U.S. presidential campaign.

After explaining his reasons for endorsing Harris within the 2024 election against Donald Trump, the actor touched on the Oakland-born Democratic candidate’s racial background, in addition to his own Jewish heritage.

In a clip circulating online, Stiller agrees to double the $150,000 in donations he has already raised. After boasting about his previous film roles, he said, “You can trust me,” before expressing how excited he’s to have the primary female president of the United States.

“Vice President Kamala can win if we all come together and really harness this incredible energy that’s happening,” the 58-year-old said, noting that he wants a president who doesn’t lie and values ​​democracy greater than himself.

“She’s going to be the first female president, and that’s incredibly exciting. She’s Indian, she’s Black, she’s everything. You can be more than one thing, and that’s amazing,” Stiller said in Comics for Kamala Zoom video conference on August 5.

The Primetime Emmy Award winner also added: “I’m Jewish and Irish. I wish I was black, every white Jew wishes he was black.”

Stiller’s comments about “white Jews” wanting to be black were met with backlash online, with X-ers criticizing Hollywood Insider from multiple angles.
