We saw the viral “boy blush” trend that has racked up over 85 million views on TikTok, with users blushing their cheeks with a triangular blush. While men’s grooming is often overlooked in makeup, boyish beauty has become all the rage on the internet among women. That’s why Glossier gave its original Boy Brow––an eyebrow wax based on a mustache pomade––an unexpected facelift (or maybe it would be better to say, eyebrow lift) with their newest eyebrow product Eyebrow arch for a boy for up-to-date information on the circular trend.

“Glossier’s Boy Brow has always been the perfect brow gel that’s easy to blend and apply,” the makeup artist said Harold James says ESSENCE, remaining one in every of industry favorite formulas for nearly a decade. Now, just shy of its tenth anniversary, the total-brow pomade transforms into a pomade pencil for a food regimen version of a classic. “The new Boy Brow Arch has this amazing 2-in-1 tip with a sharp blade to create thin, hair-like brows and a flat blade to fill in the brow for a defined but still natural look,” says James.

With the return of ’90s masculine beauty, Glossier is embracing the look with the arch of feminine, thin brows (think: Lil Kim, Missy Elliott, and Meagan Good), adding a flat edge to fill and arch the pencil-thin look. But the updated dual-tipped design doesn’t force you to make a choice from shape, definition, and volume. “My biggest brow inspiration is a French model and muse Mother Kunakey“, she says. “Her fluffy eyebrows look natural, beautiful and full; yet the contours are emphasized and shaped.”

But shape is just half the job. Shade is vital to each Glossier formula—its previous Lip Line featured nipple-coloured eyeliners as a approach to match the shade—and the new brow pencil is not any exception. “Boy Brow Arch offers nine hair-color-matched shades, making it easy to find the perfect match for your complementary brows that frame your face,” she says, from natural black to chill gray. To lock in color, a botanical clay complex helps hold the pigments in place for all-around endurance.

Harold James’ pro suggestions for the Boy Brow Arch:

“Depending on the desired result, I recommend alternating between dual-tip techniques. If your brows already have the thickness you want but you want a more precise finish or to create hairs, especially at the front of the brow, I would go for a sharp point. If you want to fill in sparse areas or add volume to your brows, I would go for a flat edge,” says James.

  1. Brush your eyebrows upwards to create a natural shape.
  2. Outline the arch with the Boy Brow Arch Brush.
  3. Fill in sparse areas with light brush strokes.
  4. Boy Brow Gel Set.
  5. Cleanse your skin with concealer.
  6. Blend with a spoolie brush for a natural effect.
