Sha’Carri Richardson refused to speak to reporters after the 100-meter final at the Paris Olympics

Sha’Carri Richardson took the world by storm at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials, winning the 100-meter dash in 10.86 seconds, earning a spot on the U.S. Olympic team and rating amongst the fastest women in the world in history. Her fearless style and incredible talent have made her a favourite at the Tokyo Olympics.

However, Richardson faced a setback when she tested positive for THC, the energetic ingredient in marijuana, after the trials. She admitted that she used marijuana to deal with the news of her biological mother’s death, which she learned from a reporter in an interview before the trials.

The positive test led to a month-long suspension, which disqualified her from competing in the 100 meters in Tokyo. However, Richardson refused to be distracted and returned to win the 100 meters at the 2023 US Track and Field Championships.

At the Paris Olympics, Richardson dominated her first race on Friday, August 2, with a time of 10.94 seconds. She cruised to the finish line with ease, posting the fourth-fastest time heading into the 100-meter semifinals.

Then she took second place and won silver in the 100-meter race ahead of favorite Julien Alfred from Saint Lucia, ending the race with a time of 10.72 seconds.

Richardson Completed in 10.87 secondsand after the race, she refused to answer reporters’ questions, Yahoo Sports reported. Their report claims she “drove past” them and only stopped to check on a disgruntled reporter who mispronounced her name, stating, “That’s Sha’Carri.”

While many were hoping for this to be her big triumphant moment, some online identified that Richardson can have been disenchanted not to win gold. She also failed to make the team in the 200-meter dash.

“Sha’Carri seemed disappointed that she didn’t get the gold medal. I don’t think she was choking, but she wasn’t grounded. She went out there – Paris and probably got too relaxed. It’s strange that Sha’Carri usually runs better than she did in the semifinals and the Olympic final. She seemed off.”

Other he said“Sha’Carri seemed a little tense. She usually runs more freely; maybe it was nerves. But at this point, there are no excuses.”

A 3rd added: “Sha’Carri Richardson won’t ever win gold. She chokes.”

Newly released video footage shows Richardson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce trying to enter the track and field venue to warm up hours before the 100-meter race, only to be refused entry through a gate they’d entered 24 hours earlier due to a night-time rule created by Olympic organizers.

Both runners were forced to descend further and enter through one other gate once the commotion had subsided.

At 5-foot-1, Richardson can be set to compete in the 4×100-meter relay in just a few days, looking to cement her place as certainly one of the world’s top female athletes. It’s very impressive that the little star has also impressed certainly one of her idols, fellow athlete Jackie Joyner-Kersee.

Joyner-Kersee said, “Sha’carri takes it to a whole other level.”

Earlier this week, the “Save the Last Dance” star made fans do a double take when she re-shared photos of her 2023 Halloween costume. She could be seen dressed as Richardson during the U.S. Olympic Qualifying Trials (Track and Field), where the 24-year-old track and field star donned a blue and turquoise uniform with a red and white headband, an extended brilliant orange wig, long eyelashes, nails, and an attitude to boot.

Washington he wrote in her caption: “Can’t wait to see my girl @itsshacarri FLYING tomorrow!!!!! DEAR @teamusa @usatf xoxo Sha’Kerry.”
