Tinashe Gives Fans a Look Inside Her ‘Bizarre’ Performance at New York’s Chelsea Factory – Essence
Tinashe created a special space that “matches her tastes” during an immersive Urban Outfitters and Pinterest event last week.
Space Shift, an experiential collaboration that took place July 10 at The Chelsea Factory in New York City, featured 10 multi-functional spaces and experiences dedicated to showcasing how Generation Z can create their very own personal sanctuaries at home. As a testament to the flexibility and magnificence Urban Outfitters brings to modern living spaces, Space Shift tapped 10 creatives to create 10 distinct sanctuaries where consumers can shop and be inspired.
Each room was paired with an influencer who embodied the style and overall vibe of the space, together with a related Pinterest board curated by UO and personally curated by the influencers. Of course, the queen of vibes, Tinashe, was readily available within the space she helped design, and treated guests to a live performance from the comfort of her craft.
Taking over the space that gave fans a glimpse into her daring latest sound, the singer took the stage for an intimate performance of her hit single “Nasty,” which is featured on her highly anticipated album, out August 16. She also treated the gang to a performance of her latest single, “Getting No Sleep.”
shall be the second a part of Tinashe’s trilogy concept album, following the discharge of last fall.
“It’s about getting to know myself on a deeper level. It’s about exploring who I am as a person and who I am as an artist,” the singer said of her upcoming album in a statement. “I’ve never been a person that you can put in a box, so the name ‘Quantum Baby’ encompasses all the different parts that make up who I am as a creative person.”
