Now Drake finds himself in a situation he’s never been in before. The outpouring of disdain is inevitable, given Lamar’s immense star power and the strength of the list of improprieties levied against Drake. The problem with Lamar, like Pusha T before him, wasn’t that Drake was biracial. Drake’s perception of his blackness became not only a subject of debate, but in addition a weapon against him. Topping it off with an fast classical concert streaming on Amazon Prime on June 11 is as calculated as anything Lamar has done.
