Kendrick Lamar unites the West Coast during a June concert in Los Angeles

Last night, in front of a huge audience of 1000’s, Kendrick Lamar performed an unforgettable event at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, “The Pop Out – Ken & Friends” concert. Here, Lamar celebrated the West Coast with classic records and popular songs; a perfect approach to end your June holidays.
The concert, organized by pgLang and Free Lunch, featured star-studded artists who got here together to have a good time California hip-hop. DJ Hed kicked off the night with a medley featuring Remble, Ray Vaughn, Bino Rideaux, Westside Boogie, OHGEESY, Cuzzos and Jason Martin, amongst others. DJ Mustard then introduced artists similar to Dom Kennedy, YG, Ty Dolla $ign, Blxst and Roddy Rich with a setlist of the ages. Tyler, the Creator also made an appearance, performing “WusYaName” and fan favorite “Ear shaking“
Kendrick Lamar closed out his sold-out show with hits including “Euphoria,” “ELEMENT,” “DNA,” “Alright,” and “Swimming Pools.” The set also featured the artist’s collaborations with TDE rappers Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, and ScHoolBoy Q. Together, they form the Black Hippy collective and performed songs similar to “Collard Greens,” “That Part,” and “mAAd City.”
Since “The Pop Out – Ken & Friends” was a tribute to the West Coast, Lamar took the opportunity to spotlight his hometown legends with the help of the legendary Dr. Dre. The Aftermath founder listened to the iconic jams “Still DRE” and “California Love.” After a short break between songs, Dre whispered into the microphone, “Psst… I see dead people,” which sparked an enthusiastic response from the crowd and signaled the intro to the hit “Not Like Us.”
During the live debut of Lamar’s chart-topping hit, fans recited the record word for word while shouting out its lyrics. In total, the Grammy-winning musician performed “Not Like Us” five times, and each was as energetic as the last. As the set got here to an end, several artists, athletes and entertainers took to the stage to point out their love for the great state of California. Figures like Russell Westbrook, Big Boy, DeMar Derozan and other West Coast influencers joined forces to fulfill, reunite and dance to considered one of the hottest singles of the yr.
The evening ended with a touching moment when all the people on stage gathered to take a historic photo symbolizing love and togetherness. As Armen Keleshian arrange the camera for the final shot of the night, Lamar shared the real theme of the event, saying, “Let them see it — we combined it with serenity.”
“The Pop Out – Ken & Friends” was streamed live to tell the tale Amazon Music to coincide with “Forever the Influence,” Rotation’s Black Music Month showcase. The other night, Kendrick Lamar added one other notch to his belt of accolades, further cementing his position as considered one of the best artists of his generation.
