Atlanta Man launches mobile laundry bus for homeless people

Nicky Crawford helps Atlanta’s growing homeless population by providing access to basic necessities. With the assistance of Georgia Tech engineering students, Crawford turned a college bus right into a mobile laundry.

Crawford she revealed the laundry bus to the Juneteenth Block Party on Wednesday. He has worked with other organizations including PAD (Policing Alternatives & Diversion Initiative), Morehouse School of Medicine, Department of Veterans Affairs and native barbers.

“We try to give them clothes that they can have for a week so they can change them because often it’s not them that smell, it’s the clothes that stink” – Crawford he said 11 Live news.

In 2022 in Crawford presented a mobile shower for the homeless community. It is positioned behind Grady Hospital, ulThe three-bay trailer has sinks, toilets and showers utilized by a minimum of 50 people per week. Crawford also provides guests with towels, toiletries, underwear and socks.

“When you really sit down and discuss with them, they are only a member of the family. A member of the family who has passed through difficult times. So we will all do something. Maybe not that. But we will all do something to assist the homeless within the Atlanta area,” Crawford said in an interview with WSB-TV Atlanta.

The retired administrator says his life’s mission is to assist the homeless and unhoused community.

“God blessed me so much that I knew this was what I was supposed to do,” Crawford told A Magazine Interview from 2023.

Crawford’s assumption Flowing with blessingsa non-profit organization that helps the homeless community with basic human needs comparable to haircuts, showers, health checks, and meals.

“At Flowing with Blessings, we believe that every person deserves to feel clean, comfortable and appreciated. Our goal is to empower people struggling with homelessness and help them rebuild a decent life.”
