Missouri restaurant sparks debate over 35 age limit

Near St. Louis, Missouri there may be a brand new restaurant that guarantees that only adults and sexy people can enter its doors because they’re 30 to 35 years old and older.

Only Bliss, a brand new upscale restaurant in Florissant, Missouri allow women aged 30 and older and men aged 35 and older can enjoy West African and Caribbean cuisine, KAKE reports. Owner Marvin Pate, 36, and his wife opened the restaurant two weeks ago and require customers entering the establishment to indicate ID to the hostess or a St. County police officer. “It represents pure happiness and pure utopia. It’s a house away from home. You can come here and feel such as you’re at a resort,” Pate said.

While most adult-only establishments have an age requirement of 18 to 21 and up, Bliss establishes a brand new model that caters to a more mature group of foodies.

“It’s just something older people can do to have a good time, eat good food and not have to worry about young people bringing a little bit of drama,” said assistant manager Erica Rhodes.

As a result, Bliss got here under fire, causing sparks to fly debate on social media resulting from age restrictions.

“Of course, we’ve had a little bit of pushback, but there’s nothing wrong with that because we stick to our code,” he said.

After a temporary update about Bliss appeared on social media, many individuals began criticizing the difference in age requirements between men and girls.

“The only thing that offends me is that the age requirements are different for men and women,” wrote one critic. “Either 30 for both or 35 for both. We need to stop reinforcing the myth that men mature slower.”

“I think both men and women should be 30. We also understand that age does not mean maturity either,” added another person. “I know some 30-year-old women who came there started a fight and were twerking.”

There were many others who expressed their support for Bliss making a setting for mature viewers who are likely to leave the drama at home.

“Adults only, no twerking on the tables. I support it,” wrote one person.

“We need more places like this,” another person said.

A brand new restaurant is planned offer takeaway orders in the approaching weeks. The assistant manager says people who find themselves too young to dine there can return in just a few years once they are sufficiently old.

“For the younger ones, you can come and patronize the company when you turn 30 or 35 because we’ll be here for a while,” Rhodes said.
