Coco Gauff reaches the French Open semi-finals in doubles and singles

PARIS (AP) — Coco Gauff reached the French Open doubles semifinals on Wednesday, a day after reaching that far in singles.

Gauff, the reigning US Open singles champion, and Katerina Siniakova won the doubles quarterfinals 6-0, 6-2 against Miyu Kato and Nadia Kichenok.

Gauff and Siniakova have yet to drop a set in the tournament, and on Friday they’ll face Americans Caroline Dolehide and Desirae Krawczyk.

This is Gauff’s third consecutive appearance in the doubles semifinals at Roland Garros. She hasn’t won the title yet. In 2022 and 2023, Gauff’s partner was Jessica Pegula, who withdrew from this 12 months’s French Open.

Siniakova, who hails from the Czech Republic, owns the Grand Slam in women’s doubles with Barbora Krejcikova.

On Tuesday, in the singles quarterfinals, Gauff defeated Ons Jabeur in three sets, and on Thursday, the 20-year-old American will face No. 1 Iga Świątek for a spot in the final.
