ACURA hosts Shorty Fest and a luxury electric vehicle

Today, ACURA does far more than simply release stylish motorized vehicles which might be fully equipped with the most recent automotive technology. The brand also does a lot of fine within the mask. As a part of the 2024 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, ACURA presented its signature event, eleventh Annual Shorty Fest in partnership with the Trombone Shorty Foundation. The festival gathered jazz lovers from near and far around New Orleans to participate within the “Cultural Block Party”, open and free to the general public. There was also some good fried chicken and jambalaya rice from Jacques-Imo, and some rattling good performances by Mardi Gras Indians, highschool marching bands, and local brass bands. The event moved to the historic Tipitina’s Jazz Club in New Orleans for a night filled with attractions that included: Sun Ra Arkestra, Galactic featuring Anjelica “Jelly” Joseph, students from Trombone Shorty Academy and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue within the New Orleans Sixth Ward.

Trombone Academy supports student musicians throughout the New Orleans region. Through the apprenticeship program, participants aged 12 to 18 meet weekly and learn wind instrument skills, mentorship and access to profession development and opportunities.

“In particular, the fingerprint and DNA of this program is based on Troy (Trombone Shorty),” said Ashley Shabankareh, director of operations and programs BLACK ENTERPRISES.

“It’s really about the way he studied. He therefore plays a key role in curriculum development in this process. It comes at key moments throughout the year. Like, everyone sits with him during the set at Shorty Fest.”
