Police say the prom revenge and murder story is fake news generated by artificial intelligence

The video shows that the murder was revenge for Samantha’s father, who was allegedly a police officer, for killing Barnes’ son several years ago. The police in Livonia confirmed that this story is fabricated.

They then said that Livonia High School in Michigan didn’t exist and that they’d not find anyone named Douglass Barnes in that state. Fake news generated by artificial intelligence is a growing problem. The latest study co-authored by scientists from Google, Duke University and other fact-checking groups shows that fraud now accounts for an alarming 60% of all verified claims that cover the media. Fake news is not the only problem caused by artificial intelligence. Fraudsters have exploited this technology clone voices, which may make victims think they’re talking to someone they know. The former teacher was arrested in April after investigators found he used artificial intelligence to mimic his former supervisor’s voice in a false racist tirade.
