Audible welcomes new minority-owned companies

Audible recently added 4 new companies to its New listArka relies in New Jersey Business attractions program. Launched in August 2023, this system is an element of the corporate’s program commitment to maintaining the businessattract foot traffic and create jobs in the town.

The company wants provide opportunities for business owners who’re less more likely to access financial support and mentoring. With Black-owned businesses getting one percent enterprise capital funds across the country, Audible encourages Black women founders to use for this system.

“Our business attractions program is a scalable model for driving economic growth and will be adopted by other companies trying to make a tangible impact within the cities they call home. Our startup support efforts lead the method to revitalize the town through thoughtful and equitable development of the tech ecosystem, promoting diverse founders and supporting the local economy.” said Aisha Glover, GAudible’s local head of urban innovation in a press release.

The Amazon subsidiary will provide $250,000 in non-dilutive grants to the corporate that can go toward office space, relocation assistance, and stipends for workers to live and shop locally. Business owners may also receive mentorship from Audible experts. Additionally, Audible makes it easier to rent buildings near Newark’s Harriet Tubman Square, including 33 Washington Street, 550 Broad Street, 494 Broad Street, 540 Broad Street and 536 Broad Street.

Equal spaceone in every of this system’s newest participants, is a 50,000-square-foot shared office and event space that provides flexible workspaces, including day passes, dedicated desks and other amenities.

“After more than 10 years of building momentum and a powerful entrepreneurial community in Newark, we recognize that we are at the right moment and that entrepreneurs need to have a welcoming place to grow and connect with other like-minded, emerging business leaders.” – said the founding father of Equal Space, Citi Medina.

Other members of this system are technology companies Pokstock, ABF’s work, Gym, AND Fitness. Food and entertainment companies include: Bistro BLVDdescendant of the famous Harlem soul food restaurant and Newark Cultural Club, cocktail bar and entertainment venue.
