Rihanna explains why she skipped the 2024 Met Gala

The Met Gala took place on Monday (May 6) and stars pulled out all the stops to embody the “Sleeping Beauties: Awakening Fashion” theme at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York with their “Garden of Time” attire.

The star that almost all people search for and stay up for yearly is superstar Rihanna because she normally makes an ideal impression each when it comes to looks and presence. For the past two years, she and her partner A$AP Rocky have been a fashion hit as a pair on the carpet. Unfortunately, the fashion icon couldn’t appear as planned as a consequence of stomach problems.

RihannaOverdose’s former EIC Shekyra Jones directly messaged Rihanna on Instagram to substantiate she wouldn’t be attending the event and to ascertain on the star when reports surfaced that she had the flu. A screenshot of the DM conversation was shared online.

“Sister? Everything’s all right?? Have you really had the flu? If so, I hope you feel better! Last month I was sick for 3 weeks. Summer colds are THAT. WORSE. I hope the kids don’t get sick! I love you,” Jones wrote.

Rihanna replied: “Bi-! It’s stomach flu, you already know what a disaster it is, luckily it won’t last long. Maybe something I ate, or someone I interacted with in Miami. Thank you for checking me out.”

The Fenty mogul was in Miami with A$AP Rocky at his Miami Puma pop-up, which took place just before Monday’s event.

While we never saw Ri Ri’s look this 12 months, she hinted at what she would seem like during a recent interview.

“This year I’m going for a really simple approach. Very simple,” she said last month. “I think it will all depend on what my makeup and hairstyle will be.” She continued and joked, “I’ll come for dinner. Greetings to Anna Wintour.”

The artist, known for her daring looks, also said that her style has modified significantly since becoming a mother.

“When you become a mother, your style changes from blah, let’s see which one will fit,” she said truthfully. “And then you must feel comfortable since you move quite a bit, after which whatever suits you. Right now my clothes are either too big or too small.

The star has two sons, RZA and Riot Rose, whom she shares with A$AP Rocky.
