Daughter Carol is celebrating 4 years of the Love Delivered initiative for Maternal Health
Since its inception, Love Delivered has connected with nearly half 1,000,000 people through webinars, educational programs, doula support grants and events hosted in partnership with the Mama Glow Foundation.
Daughter Carol is celebrating 4 years of her groundbreaking Black maternal health initiative.
As Black Mothers’ Health Week involves an end, the hair care brand shines a highlight on Love Delivered, an initiative to enhance the health of Black moms, in line with press release.
“Love Delivered is a testament to our unwavering belief that every Black person born deserves access to compassionate, equitable support before, during and after birth,” Carol’s Daughter founder Lisa Price said in a press release. “I am honored by the impact we have made and the lives we have touched over the years. As we enter our fourth year, we will continue to support people born Black by making sure they feel seen, heard and valued.”
As part of its ongoing efforts, Love Delivered is expanding access to doula care with a brand new round of grants.
In partnership with CVS, Carol’s Daughter will support the Mama Glow Foundation in its mission to enhance the quality of maternal health care for birthing babies by donating an extra $32,000 to support doula services for Black families in need living in major cities akin to New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New Orleans and Washington
Love Delivered is also partnering with supermodel Chanel Iman, who shall be sharing her maternal health journey on social media and can play a key role in promoting the show.
Iman hopes to encourage others to take motion, support Black women giving birth after they need it most, and drive meaningful change in maternity health care by making a community of shared experiences.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, America has the world’s highest maternal mortality rate amongst high-income countries, and the situation is getting worse. Black women are greater than twice as prone to experience serious pregnancy-related complications as white women and almost thrice as prone to die.
Since its inception, Love Delivered has connected with nearly half 1,000,000 people through webinars, educational programs, doula support grants and events hosted in partnership with the Mama Glow Foundation.
Through the foundation, the program supported over 120 births, and because of the support of digital technologies, it reached over five billion people.
“Our partnership with Carol’s Daughter has been impactful, innovative and rooted in service to the community,” said Mama Glow founder Latham Thomas. “Through our culture-changing awareness campaigns, content and national doula services program through the Mama Glow Foundation, we’ve been capable of influence the way care is delivered and the way other organizations model their programs. The Love Delivered partnership gives hope for a greater future.
