Robyn Dixon announces ‘RHOP’ departure.
“The Real Housewives of Potomac” star revealed her departure from the show on her podcast, “Reasonably Shady.”
Robyn Dixon is leaving The Real Housewives of Potomac. The show’s star confirmed her departure in the most recent episode of her podcast along with her partner, Gizelle Bryant.
Dixon’s departure follows rumors of changes within the solid, as her castmate Candiace Dillard Bassett also announced her departure just a few weeks ago. In the podcast episode, Dixon didn’t reveal details about her next chapter, saying she had been “fired.”
“Yes, I will not be returning for season 9 of ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac,'” she said on the podcast People reported. “It’s reality. The network didn’t invite me back. I was fired for lack of better words. I’m not going to sugarcoat the situation and say, ‘Oh, I’m leaving and it’s a hiatus’ or something like that. It’s the network’s decision.”
Dixon took the time to thank each the network and production company Truly Original. She added: “It doesn’t bother me because nothing lasts forever. I’ve been on the show for a very long time and I really appreciate my time and the opportunity I’ve been given on the show.”
She also thanked fans and viewers, giving a special shout-out to those that “gave her love.” In a touching moment, she thanked her colleague and friend Bryant, saying: “I really need to say I like you. It has been a fun, amazing, stressful and crazy journey over the past eight years. I could not imagine doing what we did with anyone else.”
Bryant and Dixon’s friendship, dubbed “The Green-Eyed Bandits,” has lasted because the series premiered in 2016. Dixon’s personal life was the topic of in depth scrutiny on the series, particularly her relationship along with her husband, Juan Dixon, and the infidelity rumors surrounding him.
Dixon and Dillard Bassett are the one confirmed exits to date for the show’s upcoming ninth season. Other solid members include Karen Huger and Ashley Darby, Mia Thornton, Dr. Wendy Osefo and Nneka Ihim.
