OneUnited Bank announces the annual “I have a bank” competition for young people.
In celebration of National Financial Literacy Month, OneUnited Bank, the nation’s largest Black-owned bank, is proud to announce its annual “I Got Bank!” nationwide financial knowledge competition, by which 10 children will win: 1000 dollars Savings Account. The bank is offering a free e-book, “I Got Bank,” that can make financial literacy a core value in the black community.
We encourage students ages 8 to 12 from across the country to read a book of their selection about financial literacy and write a 250-word essay or create an art project showing how they might apply what they learned from the book of their on a regular basis lives . is alive. Applications needs to be sent by e-mail or post by June 28, 2024. The bank will select 10 winners and award each winner a prize: 1000 dollars savings account at OneUnited.
“If you submit your entry online before June 28, 2024, you will have access to a one-of-a-kind, custom edition of the Black Panther digital comic that was created by Marvel Comics and Visa, Inc. and includes financial literacy exercises developed by OneUnited Bank,” he claims
Terry Williams, president of OneUnited Bank and writer of the book “I Got Bank! “What My Grandpa Taught Me About Money,” she wrote the book after realizing that there weren’t enough books geared toward educating urban youth about funds.
“We launched in 2022 OneTransaction Podcast to encourage our community to focus on one transaction to close the wealth gap for their family,” Williams states.
“Our contest and free e-book encourage families to teach their children how to build wealth and make financial literacy a core value in the Black community!”
