Black businesses can apply for $5,000 grants from Comcast
Comcast RISE is offering grants of $5,000 each to 500 small businesses in five regions.
All small businesses in Atlanta, Houston, Jacksonville, Florida, Richmond, Virginia and southern Colorado are eligible to applyR Funding of $2.5 million. These include small businesses run by black people. The subsidy package covers business activities consulting, educational resources and technology transformation.

Comcast RISE reports that it’s now in its fourth yr and has awarded greater than $125 million in money, marketing and technology grants to 13,500 small businesses. The recent grants can be announced in August 2024.
Loren Hudson, senior vp and chief diversity officer at Comcast, he said, “Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and are essential to constructing strong and thriving local communities. Comcast RISE is proud to assist empower and empower these small businesses, and entrepreneurs thrive and thrive.
Insufficient or expired capital poses a big operational impediment to emerging and mature small businesses. One report found that 76% of Black entrepreneurs said access to capital was a challenge.
Although Black-owned businesses have grown significantly in recent times, 25% are reportedly still struggling to acquire the capital they should support their businesses.
Generally speaking, grants can be used for several purposes: starting or expanding a business, working capital, improving financing strength, and creating jobs.
Comcast RISE is committed to supporting the event of all small businesses. The program launched in November 2020 and was initially intended to assist minority and women-owned small businesses most impacted by Covid-19. Since then, the main target has evolved to assist all small businesses and their communities thrive through means corresponding to economic growth.
Comcast RISE is a component of it UP project, Comcast announced a $1 billion commitment to extend digital equity through programs and community partnerships.
