Eric “Shake” James and Adidas release the 414 Rivalry low-top sneaker
Adidas’ latest collaboration with CLICK founder Eric “Shake” James is an exclusive release of the Rivalry Low commemorating Day 414 in Milwaukee.
Shake, a philanthropist and proud Milwaukeean, infused 414 Rivalry Low with the essence of the city. “Day 414 is a special time dedicated to celebrating the essence of Milwaukee,” Shake said in a news release. “The upcoming sneaker release is of particular importance because it is the first presentation of its kind for this occasion.”
The 414 Rivalry Low incorporates a cream upper as a base and a textured “Cream City Brick” tongue pattern. The signature Three Stripes sneakers are green with red accents, evoking the iconic Milwaukee Bucks color scheme.
As a nod to Wisconsin’s beloved culinary tradition, blocks of cheese decorate the heels and right tongue, while the left tongue is decorated with a pint glass sticker, an emblem of the city’s wealthy brewing heritage. Continuing his signature style from the DAY ONE Forum Low launch, Shake adorned the sneakers with microphone key chains, paying homage to his hip-hop roots and the sneaker culture that inspired his journey.
Shake has partnered with the adidas Cornerstone Community to support underserved communities in Milwaukee. Since 2020, they’ve organized over 15 events in partnership with Shake’s non-profit organization JAY Academy. Initiatives corresponding to wellness workshops, skilled development programs, dedicated community space and youth scholarships are planned for 2024 and 2025. “I am deeply grateful to the adidas Cornerstone Community for their ongoing support and look forward to the opening of the physical center in August hosted by JAY Academy, which promises exciting opportunities,” Shake said.
Shake and Adidas are celebrating their recent collaboration with several events ahead of 414 Day. On April 12, they’ll host an electrifying launch party featuring Lil Kim, Brooklyn Queen and a DJ set from Mr. New York. During an event in partnership with Wood U on April 11, local Siefert Middle School students were capable of personalize donated sneakers during a free shoe design workshop.
“Sharing this unforgettable experience with the Siefert Middle School students was truly uplifting, and seeing all the shoe designs they created was truly special,” said the owner of CLICK.
There might be a 414 Rivalry Low model priced at $130 available from April 13 in CLICK stores and online, the first 414 pairs were numbered in honor of the day that inspired this unique creation.
