DAUGHTER CAROL ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL HAIR SPONSORSHIP OF TENNIS SENSATION COCO GAUFF

The world’s highest-paid athlete adds one other winning partnership to her already solid business portfolio.

Natural hair care brand Carol’s Daughter recently announced a multi-year partnership with the tennis phenom Coco Gauff.

“I am thrilled to announce this collaboration with my daughter Carol,” Gauff said in a press release. “Their knowledge of natural hair care is unrivaled and I couldn’t be more proud to partner with a brand that shares my values. I am thrilled to continue their mission of empowering millions of women and little girls to enjoy their curls with pride and authenticity.”

The brand says partnering with Gauff made sense due to her commitment to experimenting with hairstyles that reflect her self-confidence, ultimately difficult traditional beauty standards.

“To see someone like Coco in the tennis world is a testament to the work that has gone before her,” she said Lisa’s price, founding father of Carol’s Daughters. “While the representation of people like us in this sport may be limited, their influence remains crucial. It brings to life the timeless saying, “If you can see it, you can be it.” That’s what makes this collaboration so special to me. When I began Carol’s Daughter, there was no plan for Black hair care brands, but now, 30 years later, the doors are open and offer countless possibilities for our hair, our confidence and our empowerment. At Coco, we have a good time the strength, beauty and authenticity of all future generations.

This is the newest major partnership in Gauff’s arsenal. As previously reported by ESSENCE, in 2022 it landed on No. 8 on the Sportico list after raking in an estimated $7.7 million in tennis earnings and endorsements.

In addition to the multi-million-dollar prize she won after winning Grand Slam titles, Gauff has secured a litany of high-profile sponsorship deals with Ray Ban and Meta for brand new smart glasses, including Bose, UPS, Barilla and Baker Tilly. She also collaborates with New Balance, a contract she signed on the age of 14.
