Emmy Award-winning actress Uzo Aduba has partnered with Colgate to encourage Gen Z and young adults to smile confidently on their very own terms, even when the general public may consider it “imperfect.”

Aduba, a recent mother, talks about how essential it is for her to instill confidence in the subsequent generation. Aduba, who has a definite smile herself, is the ambassador of Colgate’s latest campaign “My Smile is My Superpower.”

Original music video premiered 25 March. “The Beauty of Gaps” celebrates an array of smiles over a whistling approach to the empowering anthem “Roar.” Through this campaign, Colgate wants to show everyone once and for all that each smile is a ravishing smile.

This is a crucial campaign for Aduba, who welcomed her daughter Adaiba Lee Nonyem in November, and goals to show her and the Gen Z community the “superpowers” of their diverse smiles.

“You know, I have a gap, and when I was growing up, I was in a place where I didn’t celebrate it as much as I do today,” she says BLACK ENTERPRISES.

“It’s truly exciting to partner with Colgate on this incredible initiative to excite the With Your Smile generation. They strive for what they call the perfect smile, but they don’t know that they already have it, because the definition of a perfect smile is the one you already have. So I’m really happy to be a part of it because I know my smile is a superpower and I want them to know that too.”

If your daughter begins to develop gaps in her teeth, she will probably be lucky to have a mother who is willing to lead her on the trail of self-love and acceptance.

“I want my daughter to know that she is beautiful just the way she is right now,” she said. “If she has a gap or something else, it’s her uniqueness, that individual smile she already has, that makes her shine.”

Through this initiative, Colgate goals to reach 250,000 children with resources that promote smiling confidence through the Bright Smiles, Bright Futures (BSBF) program program. The program goals to empower children and families to achieve healthy and vibrant futures through educational materials, screenings through mobile dental vans, classroom kits for teachers and various other offerings.

When it comes to pushing the subsequent generation to excel, Aduba offers some motherhood suggestions she’s picked up since welcoming her daughter and supports our host who made her big pregnancy announcement!

“You’re going to love it. It’s the most beautiful experience,” Aduba shared. “The moment it happens, it changes your life. You will feel so many emotions, all beautiful. And you will be great.”
