Nick Cannon’s future parenting strategy: Picking up chicks with his daughters and warning them against dating men like him

Nick Cannon wants his five daughters up to now guys who’re the exact opposite of him – or develop into lesbians.

In March 2024, the Hollywood star and polyamorist sat down with world-renowned sex, relationship and family therapist Dr. Laura Berman to discuss relationships in “The case of monogamy” episode of his “Counsel Culture Show.”

During the conversation, the great doctor asked the comedian if he ever wondered how his lifestyle would affect his daughters’ dating decisions.

“Will everything be okay if your daughters have the same relationship with you as their mothers?” Berman asked.

The father of 11 children, whom he shares with six moms, has tried to sidestep the problem by joking that he’s a foul boyfriend to his quite a few partners.

“I see… what you’re actually saying is that if my daughter finds a guy like me, won’t I shoot him?” the comedian asked, before adding: “No, he gets shot. I don’t need it. But that is the point. I hope to provide them a game in order that they can see what their daddy is like and steer clear of mommies like me.

The expert explained that it doesn’t normally work like that, without explaining that psychologically, girls fall in love with guys just like their fathers.

“Oh no, honey, it’s the other way around,” he tells Cannon.

Still joking, Cannon explains that he wants his little girls, once they reach dating age, to search out someone who will probably be an “extremely nice guy” like his cameraman Jerry.

He then continues the new takes, adding, “First of all, I need my daughters to be lesbians. Let’s start with this. We can collect chicks together, and if that does not work, I need them to like Jerrys of the world.

“Girls want a man like their dad,” Berman said. When the Howard alum protested, she added, “I’m sorry, you higher change your clothes then.

Cannon said he hopes his daughters will have a look at their moms, see what they undergo and that their lives are usually not easy, and make higher selections.

“He sounds so stupid that he doesn’t realize he’s the first example of a man his daughters and sons see,” one person commented. “He may be disappointed knowing that his daughters could end up with men like him and his sons could end up with multiple moms.”

“Why be a person you don’t need your daughter to be with. It’s a wierd energy,” wrote another. As another person commented: “Wow, I ponder how the mother of his children feels after hearing this revelation.”

One person responded: “I always thought our goal was to be role models for our children!! This world is fucked up.”

This is not the primary time the duo has talked about Nick’s kids. In 2023, he appeared on Berman’s podcast and shared that a few of his children weren’t planned.

One psychological theory explaining why daughters select men like their fathers goes back to an idea developed within the early twentieth century by neo-Freudian psychologist Carl Jung and talks concerning the Electra complex, by which daughters fall in love with their fathers.
