Iconic rapper, singer, songwriter and producer Missy Elliott will embark on her first-ever tour this summer.

It kicks off on July 4 in Vancouver and will even feature Busta Rhymes, Ciara and longtime collaborator Timbaland. The 24-city concert series will happen, amongst others, in Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas, Houston and Toronto.

“This is an amazing time in my life as I experience so many groundbreaking ‘firsts,'” Elliott said in a press release. “I will be the FIRST hip-hop artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and now I will be embarking on my FIRST tour. Fans have always been asking me to tour, but I wanted to wait until I felt the time was right because I knew if I was ever going to do it, I had to do it in a big way and I had to do it with my family!”

News of the tour was posted online today together with a video directed by acclaimed music video director Dave Meyers.

The tour is produced by Live Nation in association with Mona Scott-Young, CEO of Monami Entertainment and Missy’s long-time manager. The creator told Variety that Elliott’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was the impetus for the upcoming tour.

“I think it was a shocking moment for her too when she realized this was the goal and the dream that she had worked so hard to achieve,” Scott-Young says. “And now that she felt like she had reached that peak, she really wanted to do that thing she had been putting off for so long, which was go on tour.”

Pre-sales begin on Tuesday, with other pre-sales going down throughout the week, followed by general ticket sales starting Friday, April 12. More information may be found on the web site Here.
