James DuBose’s ‘In The Black Network’ Is Getting Big Investment

James DuBose’s In The Black Network (ITBN) is headed to Hollywood, thanks partly to a large investment from Fab Factory.

Nearly six months after ITBN launched, Fab Factory has secured a majority stake within the network that goals to amplify content from Black creators. Details of the “big” deal are still unknown under ends with news of ITBN moving into Netflix’s old post-production studio in East Hollywood via the web site.

The three-story, 66,000-square-foot office and conference facility is home to the Fab Factory and can now be shared with DuBose’s growing media platform. Programs on ITBN include , , and original programs highlighting all points of black culture.

“James and his team at In The Black have created a culturally relevant content network for viewers hungry for programming that honors and elevates Black culture,” Fab Factory co-directors Rebecca O’Hara and Steve Fabos said in an announcement.

DuBose shared his excitement at the chance to work with the Fab Factory team, whom he credits with supporting the corporate’s mission since its inception in October 2023.

“From the very beginning, Steve Fabos and Rebecca O’Hara understood and supported my vision for In The Black Network,” he said.

“While their investment will help realize the potential of our platform, their true partnership is equally, if not more, valuable.”

The investment follows a conversation with DuBose BLACK ENTERPRISES on ITBN’s growth and expansion following his departure from Fox Soul last yr. Since its launch, In The Black Network has added to the platform with the arrival of ITBN Africa.

“I’m attempting to construct In The Black to be our Black Tubi. To be a spot where you do not have to download 5 – 6 different black apps to see black content,” DuBose said TO BE.

“We want you to come to one place – internationally, locally, in the US, in any market you can think of, in the Caribbean, etc., to come to one place and stay.”
