Tisha Campbell has a brand new movie role that is already making fans laugh before you catch her in motion on the massive screen within the upcoming “Not Another Church Movie.”

The project includes stars reminiscent of Jamie Foxx, Vivica A. Fox, Kevin Daniels and Mickey Rourke. According to IMDbthe film’s tagline reads: “It’s about Taylor Pherry, who is on a mission from God himself: to tell his family’s story and inspire his community. What he doesn’t know is that the devil has his own plans.

Campbell gave her Instagram followers a peek at the behind-the-scenes footage, writing, “I hope this puts a smile on someone’s face because it’s been a long day.” The clip showed her in a black pencil skirt, a fusichia blouse, high heels and a swinging pixie cut, with body padding that gave her a bigger butt.

“Getting into character starts much earlier, before anyone steps on set. I was still training for fitness until the last minute. S/O for costumes, hair and makeup. We had a lot of fun doing it,” she wrote in the video’s text as she got out of the trailer to shoot the scene.

Fans immediately noticed Campbell’s unrecognizable appearance including the one who said, “Someone help a brother, that’s Gina who was in Martin Lawrence.”

Others immediately mistook Campbell for one of Tyler Perry’s most beloved “Madea” characters, Cora Jean Simmons, who has appeared in countless plays, films and sitcoms. Actress and singer Tamela Mann has been playing the God-fearing Southerner for twenty years.

“Is this Cora?” he wrote one person. “I was waiting for Mr. Brown to run out after her until I realized it wasn’t Cora,” another person commented on the post. A third joked: “Looks such as you’re about to sing ‘Take me to the Kiiinnnggg.’

Elsewhere on Instagram, individuals who also noticed the plain similarity to Perry’s work he wrote things like “Tell me it’s a Tyler Perry production without telling me it’s a Tyler Perry production” or “Tyler will send you a cease and desist.”

Social media users are correct of their assumptions that Campbell is playing Cora, or higher yet, Flora Black, and that is exactly what “Not Another Church Movie” writer-director Johnny Mack was imagined to seem like.

Talking about how the project got here to fruition, he explained that while watching “all these faith-based church movies back to back” and I used to be like this, same movie, same concept, same things happening. And I assumed: How can I make this funny? How can I turn it around and make it funny?”

“I’m not attacking anyone, I’m not attacking the church, because everyone knows I love God… but how can I make it funny?” added Mack in a previous interview. “Then I thought, what if I faked it? And actually, when I came up with this idea, this is going to be gross, I’m trying to think on the toilet. I went to the bathroom and I was on the toilet… and when I came out of the toilet, when I came out of the bathroom, I had an idea how to reverse it, how to fake all these faith-based movies.

Oscar winner Foxx is an executive producer of the film and also plays a motorcycle version of God.

Rourke plays the Devil, and Daniels — most recently known for his work on the “Frasier” and “Will Trent” reboots — takes on the tycoon roles of Taylor Pharry and Madude, a parody of Madea . The film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 10.
