Angel Reese partners with Goldman Sachs’ One Million Black Women in NIL campaign

Angel Reese is doing every part she will be able to to assist Black women construct generational wealth.
The Louisiana State University star senior forward and 2023 women’s basketball champion has teamed up with Goldman Sachs (OMBW) to galvanize lawmakers to support the economic mobility of Black women – a gaggle that has proven time and time again that they’re those who make probably the most contributions but receive the least financial support. . The initiative follows OMBW recent nationwide survey details the disparities black women face as they strive to develop into financially solvent.
To raise awareness of the challenges and triumphs facing Black women, Reese and her mother, former college soccer player Angel Webb Reese, appear in a national ad calling on Congress to adopt policies that support the economic advancement of Black women.
“I owe so much to my mom,” Angel Reese said in a press release. “She instilled in me confidence, work ethic and commitment to the community. It is clear that from her generation to today, black women continue to face challenges,” said Angel Reese. “But I believe change is possible. I am proud to partner with Goldman Sachs to ensure that the voices of Black women in my community and across the country are heard.”
The ad was written, produced and directed by Maura Chanz and ColorCreative, a Black women-owned and operated management company dedicated to amplifying Black women’s voices and business efforts.
The partnership was successful, as Reese was recognized for her ability to leverage her name, image and likeness to land multimillion-dollar partnerships and brand deals lower than two years after her shocking performance on the 2023 NCAA Championships.
As ESSENCE previously noted, in 2023 On3 Report estimated that Reese earned roughly $392,000 annually from sponsorship deals with corporations comparable to Bose, JanSport, McDonald’s, Outback Steakhouse, Xfinity, amongst others.
“We fully expect more deals to be made after this,” said Bob Lynch, founder and CEO of SponsorUnited Forbes. “She is a businesswoman and more. Every kid growing up now who follows her is watching her, not only seeing her basketball performances, but in addition watching her land endorsement deals.
Reese’s success is a lightning rod not just for student-athletes who can secure their financial future after an extended period of getting used as a tool to draw dollars to the colleges they play for, but in addition for Black women who can demand what they’re price.
“I am proud that Angel is using her platform to level the playing field for Black women and talk about such important issues,” says Angel Webb Reese. “I hope that these statistics and the real-life experiences associated with them serve as a wake-up call for Congress and other leaders to work with Black women to create a future where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their goals and leave a legacy.”
The ad will run on ESPN and Connected TV in the course of the Elite Eight and Final Four games at the top of March Madness.
